Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Carthage Illinois - Carthage Jail (original building). It was raining cats and dogs that day. Summer kitchen added on later. Keeping the children from touching things proved difficult. Room Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum were kept in at first. Room the jailor allowed them to stay in when officials weren't around. Window Joseph was shot through, before falling two stories down. A special feeling about being in that room. Bullet holes in the door that killed Hyrum Smith.

Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Maddie left oreos and milk for Santa this year because mom was all baked out! The scene is set and mom slid in bed at 1:30am mostly because she was working on lining up Jon's gift. This year all Maddie asked Santa for was a purple bike, she said its what I always wanted. Celebrated Maddie's birthday on October 22nd this year, TWO days early, seriously unplanned or organized, but it was so much fun to get together and watch the kids play. She looks so grown up in this picture, it totally freaks me out. It was very unorganized so via text message I tried to tell everyone to wear a costume since it was a week before Halloween. Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Today Dane is 10 months old and I am in complete denial that he will soon be turning a year old. Jon asked what kind of party are we going to throw for Dane in two months and I said, "None I don't want to talk about it". I don't know if its the pressure of "When are you going to have your next baby? Or the plain fear of trying to have another baby, but I am not ready to give up my baby just yet. Sunday, May 18, 2014. Went to Kansas City last month to get away before Jon started back to school and our Walker family cousins the Coxes hosted our family and took us around to do lots of fun activities. That first night we had delicious pot roast (Aunt Carols recipe) and then went to the school near by to play. When we got back we had cinnamon rolls for dessert. That next morning we went to. And panned for gold, gems, precious stones. Practiced for milking cows. Bottle fed those hungry baby goats.

Sunday, March 23, 2014. St Louis Arch and Busch Stadium. This week was Jon's springbreak from school so we got out of the house as much as possible and finally made a trip to visit the infamous arch and walked around downtown to the Busch stadium. Old Courthouse across from the St. Louis Arch. We had to walk a couple blocks since parking and construction was crazy. An impressive structure, the "Gateway to the West". Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Well we went to the Scottish festival or Tartan days I'm not exactly sure what it was called. Here's some pictures as I'm sure your husband will probably not drag you to watch some highland games. It was fun to get out of the house and Dane got his first sunburn now tan. Highland games have an event similar to the shot put done with a stone! Maddie said "why are all the boys wearing dresses? So many kilts, the Scottish don't mess around with their $500 wool kilts.
