Wednesday, March 4, 2015. I’ve just finished a new painting which I’d like to show off. I recently purchased a graniteware colander on EBay and decided to use it as a prop for a still life. I filled the colander with fruit and placed it on our dining room table on a sunny morning. I took some reference photos, made some preliminary sketches and finally settled on this composition. Thursday, May 14, 2015. DH and I are in the process of changing locations for the next few months. We will be helping out at a summer camp about an hour’s drive from our home. It’s called Rock Creek Camp and is not far from Yellowstone National Park. Since the area is considered bear country, Forest Service regulations require hard-sided cabins and enforce strict rules about garbage and food. Today we hooked up our trailer to electricity, water and sewer. The camping groups stay for up to a week at a time.

Friday, April 17, 2015. BHUTAN VIRTUAL PAINTOUT part 2. While virtually wandering Bhutan for the April 2015 Virtual Paintout. I saw what looked like a lot of laundry fluttering in the breeze. Probably, but not likely. Monday, August 20, 2012. Once again the call of older British cars, this time in Niagara-on-the-lake. I went for the chance of a lunch out, which I got, and an opportunity to wander the town. We ate lunch in the theatre cafe and walked the few blocks into the centre of town. We stepped into a few of the stores but found like I did on holiday that the chance of actually finding something new or unique is gone. Starbucks fitting nicely into the streetscape in a period building.

Thursday, August 13, 2015. Last Week of Summer. Monday we went hiking on one of my favorite running trails. It was a gorgeous hike and we were having a good time (we saw a banana slug! After hiking we went swimming with some friends and then called it a day. Tuesday we went to see a dollar movie in the morning (horrible movie, but the kids loved it and we got to sit in some great recliner seats! Dancing to the entrance. Sitting at the entrance with a giant party-hatted polar bear (and a sleeping Jacob).
