Friday, October 4, 2013. TAKING IN THE VIEW. TAKING IN THE VIEW. I was most fascinated by the faraway moon in this photo. I'm not sure why, but it seemed to be rather ethereal compared to the roughness of the rocks (palette knife) and the. Earthiness of the valley and distant mountain range. He was standing at a fresh fruit market and thought these wonderful lemons were 'picture worthy'. I agree! The only thing is, I wish it had been ME standing at the fresh fruit market in ITALY! San Francisco, not being far from Napa, made a wonderful 'side trip' from the wine country. Here, I was standing on a very high cliff over San Francisco Bay, staring at the Golden Gate Bridge to my left and this quiet, gentle place to my right. Sunday, November 3, 2013. Wow, I really have to learn to photograph my paintings so that they show the actual colors of the painting! I do realize that the camera can't be totally accurate but holy socks! As was the case with the last post, this one came out much darker than it actually is (particularly the storm clouds which really don't stand out as much as the photo indicates). It's rusted and battered and pretty old. My wonderful cousin Bob, the 'car guy' gave me the following information re this beauty: She's a 1949 Chevrolet StyleLiner Deluxe 4-door sedan and considered to be among the best looking GM products ever produced. 1,700 and $2,297 fully loaded! As you can see, there haven't been 11 entries posted here for this challenge. There is a reason for that. There were a couple (few? That were simply 'unpostable'! I am calling them 'practice paintings', and that they were. Everything one paints is another lesson and another experience. But I didn't see any need to, um, bother you with all of my lessons and experiences!
