I discovered about the existence of this kind of pachadi only after my wedding.This was first prepared by my MIL for KrishnaAstami.Instantly loved this pachadi for its part-spicy, part tangy taste! 1 cup pesara pappu/split yellow moong dal. 6/8 dry red chilies (throw in a couple of more if you like it spicy! 1 tea spoon dry coriander seeds/coriander powder. 1/2 tea spoon cumin seeds/jeera. 1/2 tea spoon mustard seeds /rai. A few curry leaves.

Wednesday, April 26, 2006. There have been Mixed reviews from the British Press - The Mistress of Spices. I read two books by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, Mistress of Spices and Sister of My Heart. I read these books almost 4 years ago, when I was in India. I found 'Sister of My Heart' an interesting and a easy read. On the other hand Mistress of Spices, was intruging and engaging with various short stories interwoven into the main story of Tilo. Now why do I feel happy that Ash's Mistress bombs in the UK.
