http://riversandrain.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 20, 2008. I'm feeling cheerful today. Much more than I have in awhile. I still miss home a lot, mostly for family and friends, but this place is very nice and the opportunities I will have are just starting to sink in. Today I have to sign up for an audition time on campus and then practice.and keep studying, and remember that I am here because I love singing! Thursday, August 14, 2008. I will miss you. Wednesday, August 13, 2008. And here are the skins! Monday, August 11, 2008. You see...

rhyming rivers & rain: wednesday confessions
http://riversandrain.blogspot.com/2009/02/wednesday-confessions.html
Wednesday, February 18, 2009. I like being 23, but sometimes I wish. I was still 20. I wish so much that I was as morning person, but every morning, I regret. Having to throw the covers back and start the day. When I moved to IU, I felt like most days were a failure. And no matter how hard I tried to make myself love it again, I just couldn't. I just wanted to think about anything else. Anything. Like maybe I should have gone to school for agriculture. Then I realized it is because I'm heartsick. And now...

rhyming rivers & rain: old inspiration, new meaning
http://riversandrain.blogspot.com/2009/02/old-inspiration-new-meaning.html
Thursday, February 19, 2009. Old inspiration, new meaning. I was looking through my desk drawer yesterday when I found a small hand-held book called, "60 Ways to Feel Amazing." It is a book I found on the bookshelf or in the nightstand (I can't remember) in the flat at Via Cherubini Quattro. I don't know if I've cracked it open once since coming back to the US over 4 years ago. I remember that I felt anything. I apparently marked my favorite ones. Here are a couple:. 11 Celebrate your Aloneness. Change i...

rhyming rivers & rain: June 2008
http://riversandrain.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 30, 2008. Crying without a reason. Now as I was young and easy under the apple boughs. About the lilting house and happy as the grass was green,. The night above the dingle starry,. Time let me hail and climb. Golden in the heydays of his eyes,. And honoured among wagons I was prince of the apple towns. And once below a time I lordly had the trees and leaves. Trail with daisies and barley. Down the rivers of the windfall light. And as I was green and carefree, famous among the barns. So it m...

rhyming rivers & rain: November 2008
http://riversandrain.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 05, 2008. Listening to Obama speak last night, I cried, as I have many times listening to his speeches. I am continually caught off guard by his disarming words, and I feel something stirring inside of me: hope for each moment and each new day and for humanity. And I am so astounded that this source of inspiration comes from a politician.one who has been elected our next president, no less. These words are still my favorite:. Offering the people of this nation false hope. Ballot; a Pr...

rhyming rivers & rain: March 2009
http://riversandrain.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 04, 2009. I started writing a life-goal list more than four years ago, following in the footsteps of my inspiring friend Elyse. This past weekend, while Sarah and I were having an inspiration-session, I pulled the old thing out. I laughed at some goals, and realized that maybe I can cross some off. I also realized that our goals change.however, for posterity's sake, I didn't remove any. Some goals I still want to do:. 10 Be a yoga teacher. 21 Learn how to do pottery. 33 Have my own garden.

http://riversandrain.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 29, 2008. Dreaming of terra cotta. I love remembering the espresso and the terra cotta.the shops and the street vendors. I love remembering Kevin's face, and the Cathedrals, and walking by the Baptistery. I love the memories of the gypsies on their impossibly tall wedges, the old woman and her son who worked at the vegetable stand on Via Servi, and the strange treasures in Por que no. I know when I look through my pictures that I will go back someday, and it will be like going home. I just ...

rhyming rivers & rain: sunday night inspiration
http://riversandrain.blogspot.com/2009/03/sunday-night-inspiration.html
Sunday, March 01, 2009. With who you are. And where you are. At this moment in time. Listen to your heart. If you can't hear what it's saying. In this noisy world,. Enjoy your own company. Let your mind wander among the stars. Life can be messy. And confusing at times,. But it's also full of surprises. The next rock in your path. Might be a stepping-stone. When you don't have what you want,. Want what you have. That's a well-kept secret of contentment. There aren't any shortcuts to tomorrow. Http:/ book-...

rhyming rivers & rain: January 2009
http://riversandrain.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 24, 2009. Small things are what it is all about. Homemade mask: Oatmeal, honey, and water. It really makes your skin feel smooth, and it is beautiful and natural. Roasted garlic, a wonderful olive oil, and salt and pepper. So simple, and so tasty. Add it to a little whole wheat pasta with some Parmiggiano Reggiano and you have a basic, rustic meal that tastes amazing. A favorite cereal on a sunny morning in a beautiful bowl that my parents gave me. Monday, January 12, 2009. I'm a lifest...
