BookADay: Greedy Reader.
http://bookaday.blogspot.com/2006/06/greedy-reader.html
I have been greedy. I read and read and read and read. I do not write. I need to write. Firm declarative sentences perhaps equal a decision? BookADay will be right back. June 15, 2006 5:19 PM. You are boring me. December 11, 2006 3:14 PM. No excuses. Book reviews will be sporadic, but there. January 07, 2007 12:30 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Tribute to Wendy Wasserstein. Playwright Wendy Wasserstein has died. There are a number of beautiful obituaries for her on the web right now and I'm sure they'll continue as the day goes on, but the one I find the most comforting is from The Miami Herald. I followed her career as my own began, even forgiving her missteps (An American Daughter, which disappointed me when I saw it on Broadway) because every interview I read of hers was a delight. She was a woman I admired; a woman I wanted to befriend.

As you can see, brand new look and feel. New review in the library as well. Links to this post. A lot has happened since my last post. I need to admit full disclosure: I went to work for a publishing company, which technically, makes me one of them. I am an editor, but I'm working with already-published-books, deploying them onto a popular website. (The company owns all the content rights.) This will not affect my judgment, the reviews, or my desire to post about book publishing. I got tagged by Karen.

Monday, June 16, 2008. Fairest by Gail Carson Levine. By Gail Carson Levine. Another enjoyable fairy-tale adaptation from Levine, this time, Snow White with a twist. The twist is an interesting idea: Aza (the Snow White character) is not a beautiful girl, but a very ugly one by the standards of her people: her pale coloring and dark hair make her seem quite hideous. Yet she has a marvelous singing voice (which is prized by her people). Twist one. Sunday, June 15, 2008. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
BOOK-A-DAY REVIEWS - Home
I frequently go online to check-out reviews of books I have particularly enjoyed or books I am interested in reading. So often I find the reviews are exaggerated or unrealistic. I also find that the reviewer is writing like a college professor reviewing a college text or an aspiring author with only one outlet. I read a lot of adult and young adult fiction. I have divided the books, I like to read, into several genre at the top of this page. As I finish a book I will add a review.
