It had a great natural entrance, just the type of thing youd imagine in an Indiana Jones movie, and came with a bottomless pit. My Dad in front of the natural entrance. Later on in the trip we went to Blanchard Caverns in Arkansas, but Ill just throw in a couple of pictures from there too so you can get your fill of pretty holes in the ground. Links to this post. How to Assemble...

I love to cook, (and eat), and I've even had the admirable if unrealized goal of trying out one new recipe a week. In our relationship, I certainly wear the cooking pants. Which is why I am surprised that Dave has preempted me and cooked something blog-worthy first. For our anniversary (which was at the beginning of the month, by the way) I gave Dave a grill and a cookbook. We've spent...

The Latest About...: January 2012
http://dana-and-dave.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 20, 2012. It's official. After much anticipation and second-questioning we are no longer putting it off. We've been considering this for a while but have been held back by a few major concerns: 1. Money 2. Responsibility 3. My Tendency to Over-think/Fret 4. Adjusting to a New Town, New Job, New School, and New Schedule. Dave and I are seriously looking for a dog. Links to this post. Looking Back at 2011 and New Years Resolutions for 2012. That's cheaper than going to the movies! One of my...

http://nurturemamasreadinglist.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Scripture of the Week: Amos 3:7 (again). 8220;Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”. We spent our Family Home Evening this week preparing for General Conference . We used this lesson. Again to talk about what a prophet is. Both girls had fun playing follow the leader, and then we played Where's the Prophet? To round out the evening we ate ice cream and watched our favorite Mormon Messages. Posted by Nurture Mama.

Nurture Mama's Reading List: August 2009

Thursday, August 27, 2009. Recently Read: The Healthiest Kid in the Neighborhood. The Healthiest Kid in the Neighborhood. By Drs. Sears. I've been feeling that our family's diet could use some improvement, and this book gave a pretty decent nutritional review and suggestions. One thing I liked was teaching your kids about "grow foods", the kinds of food that will help them to grow stronger and smarter. What kid doesn't want that? Here are the important points I think are worth remembering. Best grow food...

Nurture Mama's Reading List: Christmas Reading List for Children
http://nurturemamasreadinglist.blogspot.com/2009/12/christmas-reading-list-for-children.html
Thursday, December 31, 2009. Christmas Reading List for Children. These are the picture books that we read this year to put us in a festive spirit. I wrote about how we actually go about reading the books here. The books I like the best are found closer to the top of the list. By Loren Long (this one is one of my favorites, and I was thrilled to add it to our family's permanent collection). By Chris Van Allsburg. How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Who's Getting Ready for Christmas? How Santa Got His Job.

Nurture Mama's Reading List: Recently Read: Maternal Fitness
http://nurturemamasreadinglist.blogspot.com/2009/12/recently-read-maternal-fitness.html
Thursday, December 31, 2009. Recently Read: Maternal Fitness. At a recent Relief Society gathering, I overheard a friend talking about her recent pregnancy and delivery and saying how things went well and she felt strong and prepared by reading and following the guidelines in this book. My ears immediately perked up and I had to join the conversation. And then quickly request to borrow the book and read it for myself. Posted by Nurture Mama. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Monday, December 21, 2009. Scripture of the Week: Luke 2: 8-11. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Mothering ...
