The Tides of Change | bookendings

The Tides of Change. October 22, 2013 at 2:54 pm ( Uncategorized. A change is coming. It disturbs the air,. Like a supple breeze. Sifting over a sill. Of an open window. A change is coming. It advances on tiptoe. In soft stocking feet. Barely making a sound. Like a whispered secret. Delivered in a dream. A change is coming. It hides in shadow,. Like a flash of light. In the corner of an eye. It shines bright, then flits away. A change is coming. But with all its stealth,. I am aware that it’s there.

The Tidings of Winter. November 20, 2013 at 7:01 pm ( Poetry. The forest floor is covered. In a colorful carpet of leaves,. The North wind whistles its eerie song. Through the barren branches of trees. Soft flakes float like feathers. Falling without a sound,. They melt to glisten like morning dew. Once they touch the ground. In the sky, the birds take flight. To form a ‘V’ shaped formation,. They know that they must travel far. To reach a warmer location. The furry critters scurry about.

July 30, 2013 at 5:31 pm ( Uncategorized. Breezes drift soft as whispers. Through the branches of the willows. To send their wispy tresses in motion. That mesmerizes observers to stillness. Summer Visitors | bookendings
https://bookendings.wordpress.com/2013/05/30/summer-visitors
May 30, 2013 at 6:28 pm ( Uncategorized. The inspiration for this poem comes from one of my Mom’s ‘Memory Stories’ and took place during the late 1920’s to early 1930’s. They came during the months of summer, arriving in a caravan. Of wooden wagons laden with canvas, furniture, and pots, and pans. That clanged the song of their arrival as they moved up the dirt road. Horses of black, and brown and spotted grey pulled the wagons. While the new ponies of spring followed behind. And I will always remember t...

Monthly Archives: April 2013. April 11, 2013 · 6:08 pm. Tokyo Pizza – A rollicking good time. Tokyo Pizza was written by Michael Lane as an entry for the 30 hour #nanowriwee contest held by Harper Collins. It made it to the shortlist and it was a well deserved accolade. I had the pleasure of reading Toyko Pizza in its raw state at hour 31 of the contest and even then it was an amazing bit of literature. Definitely worth the time! I highly recommend it. You can find it here on Amazon! Follow Blog via Email.

Lore wrinkled her nose at the coppery scent that hung in the quiet air, as her horse picked its way carefully down from the treeline. Broken bodies and shattered weaponry lay around the small valley. The battle had been hard fought, and barely won. Farther off a large grey cat padded amongst the dead, stopping now and then to investigate. 8220;I don’t think this is a good idea.”. Dark Dreams →. February 5, 2013 · 2:26 am. Sam liked to fish. He loved it. He spent hours talking about it, days pouring over maps of where to fish, and weeks planning his fishing trips. This week he was excited, as he packed up his truck “Old Blue”. He had hunted up some maps, asked the guys at fishing store, but no one seemed to know anything about the place. In Sams mind that meant only one thing. It was his. All his, and there must be fish. No one ever knew there was a lake there. Dark Dreams →.

Monthly Archives: December 2012. December 6, 2012 · 1:47 am. Writing is hard to do! I know, I know. I’m sure a zillion people have whined, whimpered or plain out cried those words. Praying to all the gods above to make that magical moment happen. When your brain goes ‘woohoo’ and everything just ends up on that page. But I’m finding it really tough to grab the inspiration out of thin air, after a full 8 hours on my ‘yawn’ real job. Soul draining as it is some days. How about you all? Tagged as feng shui.

The Phone Rang. →. January 12, 2013 · 12:29 am. The Technical Side of Things. We all post, read and write a thousand things over the course of our working life in regards to writing that ‘book’. One thing that I never see discussed much is how to keep your working documents (aka manuscripts) safe from disaster. Being that most of us are dependent on electronic devices for producing/editing/storing our works in progress. I thought it was worthy of a conversation. External hard drive :. There are a ton of ...

The Technical Side of Things. January 15, 2013 · 3:56 am. Her world had ended. In a nightmare of twisted metal, with the smell of gasoline on a chilly winter’s night. The phone had rung late that evening. Expecting a call from her son to tell her he was heading home from work, instead a strange voice replied to her cheerful hello. 8220;Is this Mrs. McCallum? 8220;Yes, who is this? 8221; was her immediate reply. 8220;This is Corporal Bourne. Do you have a son named James McCallum? There were the tough day...

Monthly Archives: February 2013. February 21, 2013 · 12:56 am. The baying of hounds echoed in the sultry night. Their undulating cries grew closer, as the pack reached the courtyard. Long claws skittered up the marble steps and spilled into the hallway. Their scent was ripe. The coppery scent of blood hung in a miasma about their swirling forms. Panting tongues dripped saliva along the pristine halls as they sought egress into the apartments within the building. Filed under Short Stories by Claudia Lane.

Aka the one I have to show up to every morning, it’s known as being a ‘self-starter’. I’ve often wondered how a person really is supposed to parse that into a functional state of being.
