Your Accomplice in Writing Creative Fiction. December 20, 2015. January 19, 2016. I’ve realised something. I could not care less about whether someone does like or doesn’t like a thing. Your Accomplice in Writing Creative Fiction. August 2, 2013. January 19, 2016. The relationships between the characters can be worth more than the characters themselves. Lifelong friendships, sibling rivalry, a nemesis – a speck on the palette of what can be done. Love itself is a part of fictional worlds much as it is our own, and there are many kinds of it. Your Accomplice in Writing Creative Fiction. The First Village (poem). August 7, 2014. January 19, 2016. Going back to an older piece of something, this is a poem from 2009. It’s based on a fantasy story that I used to work on, and that has its roots in a separate story I started in my teenhood. Continue reading The First Village (poem). September 25, 2013. Your Accomplice in Writing Creative Fiction. March 12, 2015. January 19, 2016. So time to talk about For More Than Earthly Ends, that thing I should be working on more but have had trouble fitting in after moving house, jobs, offices, gaining a baby, having a regular game journalist gig, and well, all those other bits of life. I have been floundering on the rewrite since about December, and a lot of the reasons listed above are big reasons. Continue reading Revisiting Your World. June 4, 2014. May 5, 2014.

Your Accomplice in Writing Creative Fiction. Writing Musts: Use Your Characters Again. May 28, 2015. January 19, 2016. I don’t do this very often. Yes, blog (shush), but also follow up a previous must. In Use Your Characters. I extolled the virtues of being lazy, and by being lazy I mean using the characters you’ve already built up in ways that makes sense for them characters, instead of trying to force a new path through your story. That’s still true, but there’s more. For More Than Earthly Ends. Contin...

Your Accomplice in Writing Creative Fiction. Writing Musts: Follow Everyone Else’s Standards. March 9, 2015. January 19, 2016. One of the things people will tell you is that as a writer, you have to meet their expectations. This might seem like a challenging thing to have to do, considering that the world is full of billions of people, but it’s much easier than making up your own mind or having your own principles. A simple question is all you have to ask – will this upset somebody? October 9, 2014.

Bookfreak0's Blog | Just another WordPress.com site
Just another WordPress.com site. Random post about my ereaders! July 1, 2011. A kobo was an ereader put out last year before borders went belly up. their issue with epub books is finally fixed. I got my reader authorized automatically. now I have two ereaders with 150 books on both, 40 on kindle. And the dtb (dead tree books=paperback and hardbacks) pile keeps growing. Books are a security blanket. there is no shame in that. I read to escape my neighbors. June 29, 2011. I admit that I hate my neighbors!

The Book Muse | Books, reading and writing
August 1, 2015 · 11:04 AM. E-books versus paperbacks: Which is better? I wasn’t going to write a post on this because if people are reading, does it matter if it is a paperback, hardcover or e-reader? I come down on the side of no, because I read all formats. I rarely read e-books, only if I am reviewing for someone and I have a couple to read and review, or when travelling. However, an e-book takes me longer to read than a paperback and here’s why:. August 1, 2015 · 10:37 AM. Book Title: Harry Mac.

Karen's whacky thoughts about books and life. September 21, 2011 by bookfreak45. S0metimes I look at people and think: why are they so blind and ignorant to life? I think there is possibly many of those people walking among us, who deny who they truly are and create a substitute persona who they think they should be. Scary? Now on to another topic. Books read in 2007. Books read in 2008. Books read in 2009. Books read in 2010. Books read in 2011. Can’t Stand Up For Falling Down – Jo Brand. Ok, so I said I wouldn’t be reading anymore celeb biogs, I’m a sucker for punishment I know. However, this was at the top of the ‘to be read’ pile and I quite enjoyed her first biog. As Brand was a psychiatrist nurse before being a comedian then at least she has some interesting stories to tell. Somebody has very kindly bought me a Kindle! All that will stop thou...
