Live in it then! : July 2014
http://nostalgicforthepleistocene.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Live in it then! Friday, July 04, 2014. Red, white. Blue. You knew this was coming, didn't you? I've complained a lot about living here. As we slowly empty the house to move to a place that's, in many ways, the inland home of our dreams, here I am. Getting sad. But living here was a gift from my parents. It enabled us to survive this decade. Their love for us is in these walls. We may not see a lot of those guys in the inland suburbs, though we did have a possum a few weeks ago. 8 ). It's getting bare...

Live in it then! : June 2015
http://nostalgicforthepleistocene.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Live in it then! Friday, June 19, 2015. Paint out the stars. 2014 was a peaceful year. I'm talking outer peace, not necessarily inner peace, but nobody's Facebook Sunrise Placard saying "outer peace is worthless without inner peace" is gonna change my mind: a whole year. Low on personal tragedy, conflict, and anxiety is very wonderful, even while I am still processing a lot of unresolved and unexplained stuff, as well as loss. The church was foundational for them. They freakin' met. Then the denomination...

Live in it then! : Daer Episcopal church - yur doin it rong
http://nostalgicforthepleistocene.blogspot.com/2011/11/daer-episcopal-church-yur-doin-it-rong.html
Live in it then! Monday, December 05, 2011. Daer Episcopal church - yur doin it rong. Most of the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina is on the conservative Anglican side of the debate. Not just the churches, but the Bishop of SC his very own self, who's distancing the diocese from the national policies. For clarity here's the deal:. And let them go. The meeting was not even about the various points of view, but assumed that all of those present were on one solid side, certainly trying to coexist, but un...

Live in it then! : March 2014
http://nostalgicforthepleistocene.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Live in it then! Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Normal things in life can still be crappy. Every afternoon, when Dad was here, I would come over and we would watch reruns of Bonanza. On the old kitchen TV (which was my old 1991 TV, and which I still had in the basement and brought over for him when his TV quit). It's what happens as each generation passes, and it's normal, and it's really crappy. I'm trying to enjoy Bonanza. But I miss Dad. Posted by Nostalgic for the Pleistocene. Links to this post.

Live in it then! : Linear time
http://nostalgicforthepleistocene.blogspot.com/2015/08/linear-time.html
Live in it then! Friday, August 07, 2015. Having to live in linear time - always unable to change the past - is both the Classic Human Dilemma, and lousy. I know it's exactly what I need to do. I know that if I didn't have to live with consequences, I'd never gain any wisdom. I know it's no harder for me than it is for anybody else. Still, it would be nice for life to come with just a couple of do-over tickets. Or one. I'd take one. But it might not matter even if I could. This is going to get confusing,...
