A man strides the length of the shop to shake my hand. April 13, 2014. He fairly sings my name. Long time no see, he says. I moved away from the area so I dont get to come in any more. This is strange I think, as I pass him every Sunday on my way to the shop. Are you slaying the might of amaz*n? In a manner of speaking, I say. This is very odd, I think, for although he was once a regular customer, it must be ten years since I sold him a book. Posted at 11:55 AM in Bookselling. April 08, 2014. He is also ...

Looked at a book. July 09, 2015. On my way to the office out back. Thought, weve had that a while, Im surprised we havent sold it. It won a prize. It is highly thought of. Fussed around in the office for thirty seconds, came back out into the shop. A lady appeared in the middle of our otherwise empty shop. Asked for the book. I found it for her. It won a prize, I said. It is highly thought of. Yes, she said. I sold her the book. Sometimes the magic works like this. Posted at 12:09 PM in Bookselling.

Saturday, February 15, 2014. I watch news of the floods in Britain with a Canadian friend. With that flooding the French can just row in . there are no trees in England, just hedgehogs, and that's why there's the flooding. And you haven't got guns. Which makes it even easier for them. Now's their chance.". Are all the hedgehogs in little rowing boats? Only, youll have to shave your hedgehogs. Health and safety, you know. Regard the hedgehogs as your male children! Here is son). http://booktrout.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Books, Book Selling, Book Reading, Book Loving. Thursday, November 10, 2011. Chronicle Book Fair in Glens Falls, New York. The crowds at the Chronicle Book Fair were nice from 10:30 am (many browsers drifted in early) to about 2 pm and then rather precipitously dropped off. This left a little time to sneak away to chat with Gluten Free cookbook author Amy Rota-Poulin and my fellow bookseller, Victoria Garlandia at her Three Wise Women booth to snag a few local history titles. One man's odyssey through the world of books. Friday, July 24, 2015. Richard Holmes - Falling Upwards: How we took to the Air. France seems to have had a long relationship with the balloon. Poets, scientists and writers (and often combinations of all three) rode them, and fell in love with them. One, Camille Flammarion saw the future in the balloon,. Whither sales this ship? It sails with daylight, clothed,. Towards the Future, pristine and divine; towards the Good,. The book ends with the age of explora...
