The photo makes it look somewhat more reddish than actual. Done from a photograph in a Tucker Smith book who is a great painter living in Pinedale, Wyoming. This is the Wind River Mountain Range. Wildlife Artist and Knife Maker. Monday, January 18, 2010. Another recent 18x24 that I've reworked the tones and values on too many times. It's ok but just not right. Links to this post. Although I am not a big wolf fan because I think their reintroduction has been botched (too many in some areas that are eating all the other wildlife) I do think they are interesting to paint. This is one of those paintings that is good but that I will never be sure of. Why? I do not totally know. It is 16x20.
