Saturday, September 10, 2016. Teen Guy's room Make-over with a Vintage twist. Hey there my retro lovin' peeps on the web! I wanted to share with you my son's room reveal. Over the years, although we have upgraded some of the major fixtures in the room (bed, desk, media console) it hasn't really been redecorated since he was a toddler (he is 19 now). So this you could say was long overdue. Paint - Walmart brand "Color Place". Gray Granite" and "King Neptune Blue". Both in Semi-gloss finish]. One of his ot...

I have to share one of my newest vintage acquisitions with you! These were thrifted at one of the local Salvation Army stores near where I live for a little less than $2 each. It is a canister set, à. La Mid-Century. (The soft pink is a dead giveaway! Yes, my little darling canisters, I will keep my sugar, flour, coffee and tea in you!

Saturday, November 22, 2014. Little Houses, little houses - Christmas Crafting! Greetings, friends on the Interwebs! Halloween is over, and it's finally getting cold enough that I can think Christmasy. It seems like a long way off still, but only a month and few days. My lovely daughter near some of the Christmas decorations. Little Houses, little houses, and they are all made out of Ticky-Tack. Well actually cardboard, glue and glitter). More Putz houses on display from Retrorenovation.com. In the 1900'...

I have to admit, I always felt bad for animals whose humans do things like this to them:. But costumes needn't be over the top. My cuddlebugs don't mind wearing sweaters and such in the cold weather, so I figured I would make something based on a similar pattern. Here at Tea-and-Cat blog, there are plenty kitties to help with the sewing!

Monday, August 25, 2014. Cosplay for PAX East - Elizabeth from Bioshock. Hey Everybody, I hope this finds everyone in good spirits! We are wrapping up the weekend, one of the few left of summer. The past couple of nights have been a little chilly - an early harbinger of fall? It makes me kind of sad that summer is nearing an end. Example of an "inspiration photo". Also, sign up for email coupons and texts if you can. I got about $300 worth of fabric and notions for $80 that night. Another thing to keep i...

Sunday, April 21, 2013. Mad Men Sewing Challenge Completed Dress! I have been busily sewing these past couple weeks trying to get my "Mad Men" sewing look completed. (Mad Men 2nd annual Sewing Challenge from Julia Bobbin's Blog). I am very happy with the way it came out. The dress seems to suit me more than the 40's skirt and blouse did. Here is my inspiration dress on the character Betty Draper :. And here is my finished look:. I ended up using McCall's pattern# 6146, circa 1961. I ended up doing a lot ...
