Coin Laundry, Asakusa Tokyo, Spring 2005 | Creamy Cream Cheese

Coin Laundry, Asakusa Tokyo, Spring 2005. But the laundry, or more accurately for me, the dryer, makes you buy a drink to get change. I don’t mind though; mercifully, they have grape juice. And they only charge 100 yen, normally its 120, but here they only charge 100 so that you can get an even 400 or 900 yen back, and it’s a perfect 1 coin for grape juice and 4 coins for dryness. I Am So Brilliant. Luckily, though I wasn’t fully aware of it at the time, it turns out that I have a brilliant mind. And it was short work for that mind to discover the secrets behind this phenomenon. I realized that numerous times every day speakers of the English language make these subtle distinctions without ever consciously thinking why they do it. That’s what led me to the knowledge of my brilliance. That I possessed the formula for deciding between this or that” and that I had deriv...Another thi...

How I traveled in China knowing next to nothing about either China or traveling. I’m sure she’s right. Those words have been an encouragement to me ever since to be less annoying. I thought I was being a wit like Bill Bryson with this travelogue, but somehow he sounds endearing when he whines. Let this be a lesson to you all. It’s 32 pages single-spaced when printed out. Feel free to skip around. How I traveled in China knowing next to nothing about either China or traveling. Get In The Van…. Three Artis...

4th Grade Science Teacher, October 1999. October 2, 1999. For those of you who are having trouble picturing me teaching a 4th grade class, I offer the following anecdotal evidence that I am perfectly qualified for this position:. Typical conversation during the 4th grade version of taking notes:. Class is completely quiet. Students have books and paper out. Teacher: METAMORPHOSIS. Write this down on your paper. John: Is that a ‘Q’? WHEN A BUTTERFLY TURNS INTO A CATERPILLAR. Javier: I wrote it underneath.

Hachiko Crossing | Creamy Cream Cheese
https://creamycreamcheese.wordpress.com/hachiko-crossing
The crossing at Hachiko in Shibuya must be one of the busiest pedestrian intersections in the world. Nestled as it is in such a perfect natural and artificial amphitheater, something needs to be staged there, something absurd, something dumbfounding even, and I think I know exactly what. Of course, this will not be a genuine call for freedom. This is Japan, we are all free, there will be no actual political motivation involved in this act. Okay, someone needs to organize. What, me? I Am So Brilliant.

Conrad Meets Tokyo For The First Time As A Young Man. Written in May of 2006. I just want to say, I love this place. I love Tokyo and I love this place. Do you live here or are you just visiting? And we can communicate, you know, I don’t speak his language, but they want to know me. This place is great. I love this place. This guy over here (a Japanese man) can just come out and play the bagpipes, and I feel him, man, I feel him. The music is loud, so we are talking close and loud. Are you a student?
