Not Half Right: A Prayer For The Newly Living and Devout
http://jonathanandrewcamp.blogspot.com/2014/07/a-prayer-for-newly-living-and-devout.html
Music, Art, and the Pursuit of Earnestness. Tuesday, July 22, 2014. A Prayer For The Newly Living and Devout. Oh, I know we haven't spoken for hours. I'm sorry about that. Work always finds a way to stretch out the hours and ignores the truly important. Or maybe someone I know proves that point to be incorrect. She leaves me undevout to the musical altar I have created. But, only You deserve to have the final call on my sincerity. And I have an amazing memory. And doesn't everyone have a heart? It's like...

Not Half Right: October 2013
http://jonathanandrewcamp.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Music, Art, and the Pursuit of Earnestness. Sunday, October 27, 2013. Ever Did I Own A Heart. Written on my final night being an Indiana resident. Ever did I own a heart. When you peered into mine eyes,. Found a place to call your own. Set a fire across the sky. I remember, oh so well,. Wand'ring, drifting close behind. A Cloudy pillar in the day,. A Spinning flame against the night. Will you sing your only song. While I play note by note in tune? I won't wait to fall apart. Be Mine then and now and soon;.

Not Half Right: February 2014
http://jonathanandrewcamp.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Music, Art, and the Pursuit of Earnestness. Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Holy Hymn of Love Manifested. When words aren't good enough. You hold my face. And show me I'm yours. You let me in. And we rain dance. Until the clouds erupt. We shed our outer layers. And share the skin. That once was dust. A young boy could never dream. To be as lucky as I am when. You stare down at me from that pedestal. To see the real you. Is a privilege and blessing. I would have never asked for. But could you ever see me.

Not Half Right: Night Ride
http://jonathanandrewcamp.blogspot.com/2014/07/night-ride.html
Music, Art, and the Pursuit of Earnestness. Sunday, July 13, 2014. I like to pretend my bicycle has no wheels and I'm floating on air. It's always nighttime and the stars line the deep blue tinted highway like a perforated edge in neon. I let go of the handlebars and I'm swimming in the Pacific, my hands brushing next to the Oak tree reef, kicking up the sandy pavement. This black pathway could seem lonely to some; I seldom pass a soul, let alone another human. You travel at the speed of light.

Music, Art, and the Pursuit of Earnestness. Monday, August 18, 2014. The House On The Hill. A house for summer with lawns and porches,. Edwardian books, adventure stories, the smell of musty closets,. Thin mattress over metal springs, blankets with holes,. A cabinet of arrowheads and stones, forbidden. Dumb-waiter creaking, they said it was too old,. Odor of attics with discarded bureaus, portraits. I lived with relics of children already aunts and uncles—. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Music, Art, and the Pursuit of Earnestness. Saturday, June 28, 2014. Good For The Greater-Than-Us. Patchwork or made-up, I don't want to build her from scratch. Could I ever really give her the chance to be a woman if I did? Or can she only be for me what I need her to be? It's a selfishness we could never afford. You can keep trying to fall in love and instead keep falling back into love. And oh how other skin and other eyes just point you back to what you were once given permission to look into. I'm ho...

Not Half Right: On Air
http://jonathanandrewcamp.blogspot.com/2014/08/on-air.html
Music, Art, and the Pursuit of Earnestness. Saturday, August 2, 2014. I've never felt so high as when I was 30,000 feet and thinking of your name. How you were mine. How you had shown me so much for so long and kept me in your back pocket until God allowed you to me pull me out. How lucky I am to have submitted to whatever watches o'er and to be immediately granted what I needed all along. And then I fell asleep as tho floating on air was where I was born. Not Half Right: September 2013
http://jonathanandrewcamp.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Music, Art, and the Pursuit of Earnestness. Wednesday, September 25, 2013. If you get past the gruff '90s Punk exterior, it is a beautiful pop song that should have been a hit. The lyrics aren't extremely complex or Impressionist, but they are honest and simple and feel true. One of my favorite songs ever. I think I'm gonna have to put this on a Joel Levi record some day. I give you . "Long Distance" by All. Tuesday, September 17, 2013. His wrinkly eyes squinted as he smiled. Down at my tearful question.

Music, Art, and the Pursuit of Earnestness. Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Not always about me, but always about me. But it seems that these things are being expressed in other ways right now. I love this space. And I love the few of you who have kept up reading it and still even leave a comment sometimes. Thank you for ever caring at all. I'll come back hopefully sometime. See you later, if I see you at all. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). You are just a number:. Extending your knowledge of who I am .
