Things i do stuff i make. Random projects of mine and acquisitions. Friday, July 8, 2011. Palak Paneer (Spinach and Homemade Cheese). This is my favorite vegetarian dish, served with rice. But the only way to truly appreciate Palak Paneer, is to make it yourself. Prep it in the morning, and you will have perfect cheese to fry for lunch. Making the cheese is so easy, and well worth it! Tea and Cookies Blog suggests drizzling your favorite honey and toasted almonds on top of a few pieces for nice dessert!

Adapted from Cook's Illustrated. 3 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, grated on small holes of box grater (about 1 cup) (I used Mozzarella). 1 tablespoon unsalted butter. 1 medium onion, chopped fine (about 1 cup). 1 medium rib celery, chopped fine (about ½ cup). 1 medium clove garlic, minced or pressed through a garlic press (about 1 teaspoon). 188; cup tomato juice (I used fresh tomato juice I had in the freezer).

Cuban Pork Shoulder Roast. 6-pound pork shoulder, trimmed of excess fat. 4 tablespoons finely minced garlic or dried powder. 2 tablespoon dried oregano. 3 tablespoon ground cumin. 2 teaspoon ground black pepper. 1 cup orange juice. 2 cups of lemon slices. Stick in crock pot on high until pull apart tender. Add more orange juice during cooking if more liquid is needed. Make a Yo-Yo quilt.

Cook first hour at 350 f. Cook second hour 300 f. It should be very rare around the bone. I slice thin and the boys can eat it as fast as I can slice. Of Leg of Lamb Soup. Cut sliceable meat off and slice for snacks (I have boys and an glad to have lamb as snacks over sweets). Add 4 cups carrots. 2 cups of celery.
