HEDGEHOG STORY « BotanicBay.com

http://www.botanicbay.com/category/hedgehog-story

Crooked tail cat and others. About At Friends’. Well, it is now some time since we last had the pleasure of a hedgehog that wanted us to share our garden with it…. and to be honest I am missing the fuzzy and spiky little creature. So here is a quick question for all you nature lovers :. How can I encourage a hedgehog to come and live in my garden? Should I put out some special food, plant certain bushes, make a house for him, advertise in the yellow pages? Aug 26, 2010. Meet Piquedru, our pet hedgehog.

Crooked tail cat and others. About At Friends’. Wish I was there! This photo was taken near the site of Chichen Itza in Mexico. BTS students : if in your next test you quote “white hut and palm tree at Chichen Itza”, you will get bonus points! Nov 29, 2009. Well this small creature was caught waiting by the hotel buildings, in the early hours of the morning… so swift, so wild, it quickly ran back into the mangrove. Whenever I tried getting near it! Nov 21, 2009. Palm beach …. Was planted with palm trees.

MIAMI « BotanicBay.com

Crooked tail cat and others. About At Friends’. The Fairchild Botanical Garden, Miami. A must-see, and the following photos will surely tell you why. Let me take you to Asia, Madagascar and the tropics, in one tour of the Gardens! A feel of the tropics. A palm opening like a flower and its fruit chore. A glimpse of Asia, I love the shades of grey and green. A mirror effect most mesmerizing! A mix of tall and small, and a leaf contrast that enhances the beauty of each specimen. Went to in search of. Crooked tail cat and others. About At Friends’. A 400m2 plot of clay soil with east/north/west/south facing areas, allowing plenty to try : plants and design. Already there when we arrived : 3 massive. Only one left now), a big. That keeps us busy with pruning every year, a wonderful. Plus other smaller trees. Click image to enlarge. Double click filmstrip to stop/start. The ladies in red. Inviting colour inside the house. All about thinning…. My trip to Corfu. Photo of the day. 2016: all about thinning.

Green Tiger: January 2012

https://thegreentiger.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

On Appreciating, Protecting and Enjoying Nature and Life. Tuesday, 17 January 2012. The weather has been scorching hot and dry recently.my family call this weather 'Lunar New Year' weather as it makes its appearance around January and February just in time for the celebrations. Sigh, means we have to be extra careful NOT to gorge ourselves silly with too much oily or fried delicacies and to drink lots of water. The lunar celebration falls on 23 January (Monday) this year :). The ones with the frilly bits!

Green Tiger: October 2011

https://thegreentiger.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

On Appreciating, Protecting and Enjoying Nature and Life. Friday, 21 October 2011. Post 3: Mini Cherry Tomato. The other day, I finally. Harvested my 1st cherry tomato. Yes, you read it right, TOMATO instead of TOMAT OES. Haha, yup, 1 lonesome wee yellow cherry tomato. Wee' because it's smaller than a 20 cents coin! I bought a packet of seeds in June which the nursery owner said came from China. Planted out 8 seeds and 6 germinated. But only 4 plants grew to about 10 cm. Thinking that I'll at least save ...

Green Tiger: May 2012

https://thegreentiger.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

On Appreciating, Protecting and Enjoying Nature and Life. Thursday, 3 May 2012. Pretty flowers from weeds? Recently, I came across this weed growing from a side pavement and under a mature tree. It was the only weed clump within that area full of wild grass, rocks and gravel. I was initially struck by its deep green foliage and its spreading (growing) habit. Such pretty flowers from a weed, I certainly didn't expect that! Henceforth, I'll make sure to give weeds a closer inspection :). Links to this post.

Green Tiger: March 2012

https://thegreentiger.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

On Appreciating, Protecting and Enjoying Nature and Life. Thursday, 22 March 2012. One of my favourite plants are Adenium Obesums, commonly known as 'Desert Rose' and 'Fu Kuai Fa' here. Currently, I have 5 of these lovelies in the garden :). Grown from stem cutting. The bigger and more swollen the caudex the better; an older plant with a big caudex and lots of branches and flowers can command a handsome sum in the re-sale market. I just LOVE to look at the caudexes (? Seedling with swollen trunk. Seeds a...

Green Tiger: Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

https://thegreentiger.blogspot.com/2013/09/happy-mid-autumn-festival.html

On Appreciating, Protecting and Enjoying Nature and Life. Thursday, 19 September 2013. Oh dear, 365 days has passed since my last posting! I blame it on life.work.family.and umm, laziness, yeah definitely, laziness is pretty high on the blame list. *sheepish grin*. Anyways, today is Mid-Autumn Festival day according to the chinese lunar calendar. It is also known as Moon Cake Festival in Malaysia, so named after the ubiquitous round-shaped baked cakes or pastries usually filled with lotus seed paste.

Green Tiger: February 2012

https://thegreentiger.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

On Appreciating, Protecting and Enjoying Nature and Life. Monday, 27 February 2012. Dear Four-Angled Bean plant! You will be sadly missed. Your beautiful light blue flowers will nod in the wind no more,. Your green seed pods will no longer greet my mornings,. Nor give me the pleasure of counting their numbers. And gleefully crossing out days to finally pluck them off,. Your mature green pods will no longer play 'hide-and-seek' with me. Behind your thick foliage in attempts to foil my harvest,. So, errm I...

On Appreciating, Protecting and Enjoying Nature and Life. Tuesday, 25 September 2012. Travel Series: An Evening @ Morib Beach. This blog was started with the main intention of blogging about my attempts at gardening and embracing Mother Nature. I have since discovered various bloggers who are SO MUCH MORE better at gardening and chronicling their attempts on their sites.and, here's the clincher, regularly updating too! Eyes cast downward sheepishly*. So, I thought starting 'Travel Series' would be a good.

Green Tiger: April 2012

https://thegreentiger.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

On Appreciating, Protecting and Enjoying Nature and Life. Wednesday, 18 April 2012. Junks and Such: Re-adapted. I have a confession to make: I am a certified 'hoarder'! Anything and everything that remotely look like it can be re-used or re-adapted for another use will be put aside and stored in a corner gathering dust until called to 'service'.which may happen within days or typically, years later! They were re-adapted into:. Soda bottle - Pot for water plant. Balloon holders - Finger puppet holder.

l'expérience Madagascar: il est temps de se dire au revoir

http://lexperiencemadagascar.blogspot.com/2011/04/il-est-temps-de-se-dire-au-revoir.html

We want to move it, move it! Vendredi 15 avril 2011.
