The regular British army at the start of the war was just 250,000 men. There were a further 450,000 trained reserves, including retired soldiers and members of the Territorial Force. 1914-1918 Richmond at Home and at War. Richmond WW1 Stories and their International Links. As part of the Richmond at Home and at War project, the Museum of Richmond has begun working with local secondary school pupils to inspire creative responses to the stories of the war. Work so far has included Poetry Burst sessions at the museum, using objects from the collections to stimulate poetry writing, and an outreach workshop working with Poet in the City. Session and have published some of the outcomes.
