Carpe diem: Warm Welcome
http://cs92.blogspot.com/2012/03/warm-welcome.html
The 12 hour flight home felt surprisingly short. Most of the way was spent trying to study in a semi-sleep state on the plane in an attempt to readjust to Malaysian local time. Otherwise, it was quite a pleasant flight. I was sat next to a chiropractor from Australia who tried to teach me the brachial plexus on a sick bag. A stark reminder of the weather I can expect here in Malaysia. I think I miss the cooler Cambridge weather already. And here's lunch that Mum cooked:. For now, it's work time! 20 March...

Benefit of the Doubt. I was going to get down to writing this blog post about an hour ago, but I ended up reading some stranger's Tumblr and I didn't realise that it loaded more posts everytime I reached near the bottom! So I kept scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling. At some point I decided , " whoa this page is long, I'll stop when I reach the bottom of this page.". Agh 2891 seconds wasted. Daniel Tan shared this Youtube clip of the placebo effect on Facebook:. As an example of placebo buttons.

Carpe diem: Musings
http://cs92.blogspot.com/2012/03/musings.html
I really want to start blogging again. So much has happened since I've begun life in Cambridge. So many experiences, tonnes of work and new challenges. It's all worth chronicling - so that's the plan. First things first, I need to study for my upcoming Social Context of Health and Illness. Ack. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Carpe diem: January 2010
http://cs92.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
A rather uneventful Sunday has strolled in. I had decided to do my usual news update on The Star Online and BBC News. An unusual article caught my eye:. Dead maid in car' case? Apparently, the employing family had called the maid agency to report that their maid was terribly ill. However, when the agent arrived, she was told the maid had died and that she had to arrange the funeral. They then put the body in their car and drove to an undertaker in Kuala Lumpur. Here's a picture of those being arrested:.

http://cs92.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Took a short break from blogging for C4. But now I'm back. It really is quite a commitment to blog but I want to make it a point to post consistently and for an indefinite period of my life. Today, I am going to blog retrospectively starting from this current time. Well, self-discipline dictates that I watch a maximum of one episode a day. This is for fear of finishing the series too quick like I did with Scrubs and then getting really sad because it was all over and I couldn't do anything about it&#...

Carpe diem: If I Were a Duck...
http://cs92.blogspot.com/2012/03/if-i-were-duck.html
If I Were a Duck. I'd definitely want to be an Emma duck. Here at Emmanuel College we love our ducks - they're the happiest, fattest ducks around. They even feature in our college crest:. Credits to Charlie Zou for the amazing pumpkin carving. Anyway, here are more duck pictures that I've taken:. Very fat, no? The ducks seemed completely unfazed by the snow and below zero degrees temperatures. They simply waddled around in the snow and pecked away ice on their side of the pond. 25 March 2012 at 22:37.

Carpe diem: End of Lent Term!
http://cs92.blogspot.com/2012/03/end-of-lent-term.html
End of Lent Term! I'm in there somewhere. Those four fingers peering out are in fact mine. Long awaited celebrations are in order! Well, with some sub-concious restraint for the medics, really. Lent term has been a ridiculously tough term for me. Regardless of what other medics might say, I probably haven't quite been this pushed (academically at least) in my life. Physically, rowing circuits were pretty harsh too. Also, I saw snowfall for the first time ever in my life! 17 March 2012 at 08:28.
