The Vintage Ferry Service. Starts at Tuckton Tea Gardens and runs down to Mudeford Sandbank, stopping at Wick Ferry and Christchurch Quay. The service begins its season at Easter and runs every day (weather permitting) until the end of October. The timetable will vary daily according to both the weather and the time of year, the minimum service being a boat every hour and a half, the maximum being every half hour. We have special rates for Party and School bookings. The ferry fares (for the season).

Are available to rent from Tuckton Tea Gardens, Wick Ferry and Christchurch Quay. They are rented on an hourly basis as they are only allowed on the river and harbour, with exit to the sea strictly forbidden. Each boat takes up to 8 passengers and these smaller boats give access to some areas which the ferries do not see. Self drive motor boats cost 30. For an hour and 20. For half an hour. Wick Ferry runs across the River Stour between Wick village and Christchurch. Some historians believe that the first ferry rights were granted before the Christchurch Priory was built, which would make the service nearly 1000 years old, but nobody disputes that the service is 200-250 years old.
