A place for us (bowers blog). 1 pound ground sausage, browned and drained. 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes. 16 ounces chicken stock. Pint half and half. Small can evaporated milk. 2 tbsp stick butter. 2 cups orzo or other small pasta, cooked and drained. 6 ounces shredded Parmesan cheese. In a large stock pot, combine sausage, crushed tomatoes, chicken stock, and seasonings. Simmer about 5 minutes.

A place for us (bowers blog). 1 1/2 sleeves of Saltine crackers. 1/3 to 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter. 3 Tbsp. sugar. 1 can (14-oz.) sweetened condensed milk. 1/2 cup fresh lemon or lime juice, or a mix of the two. Preheat oven to 350°. In the bowl of a food processor or using your hands, crush the crackers finely. Add sugar, and knead in butter until the crumbs hold together like dough. A place for us.

Egg Wash: In a bowl, whisk together one egg and 1 1/2 teaspoons of water. Preheat oven to 450. Bring water and butter to a rolling boil, stirring until butter melts. Reduce heat to low: add flour. Stir vigorously until mixture leaves the sides of the pan and forms a stiff ball. Bake at 450 for 15 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

Baked Brie With Kahlua and Pecans. 3/4 cup chopped pecans. 3 tablespoons brown sugar. 1 (14 ounce) brie cheese. 1 Microwave pecans 1 1/2 minutes. 2 Mix with Kahlua and brown sugar. 3 Spread on brie. 4 Microwave an additional 2 minutes; or bake at 350 until the topping is bubbly. 5 Serve with crackers and/or apple and pear wedges.
