I support the BM Riders Club. Being led there and then back to my hotel through Bangkok traffic in a convoy of mad GS riders was brilliant. Wish my brakes were a bit better, though. I'm joining their Club outing to Laos for a few days starting on Dec 4, from where I'll leave them and continue to Vietnam; meanwhile, the food for thought is that their next Club outing is to Tibet, early next year. I support the BM Riders Club. Below is what was the running status of both Cynth and the bike during the weeks after the accident in April 2005 - I leave it here for you all to see what was happening as the time progressed but thankfully both are now well and the journey has resumed. Apparently the GPS shows that Cynth was travelling at 50 mph when she hit the rock - if she went into the soft stuff first I dread to think of the speed before impact. I support the BM Riders Club. Maps of the Journey. Will import into the Garmin Mapsource software and contains waypoints, tracks and my route so far. Of interest to some may be the bit in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico where you can see us slow down and go round in circles while we retrieved the screecher when the halyard broke. Not to mention the rats nest when we arrived in Isla Mujeres and couldn't get the gearbox into reverse. Will import into Google Earth Plus.

You are Visitor Number. Update 27th August 2007 Coming Home after 3 years on the road. It was all rather silly, really. I stopped for a photo, and did what almost every motorcyclist has done. It was gravel. Having stopped, I put my feet down, and my left one. A couple of chaps in a bakkie (pick-up) stopped and helped me pick up.

Here's a bit lump of rock I found in the middle of the Outback. Anyone know what one of these is? So, no chance of Christmas, then. Salt lake south of Coober Pedy. Common as pigeons - what is it?
