On the surface I suppose most people will see these as boring videos but in the first one, you can see how hard the wind was blowing by the waves of sand racing along the beach. Then in the second, that loud sound that gets even louder toward the end, is the edge of the hood of my jacket as it was being whipped by the wind. AWESOME. I love the power of the waves and the wind. Hold On To Your Hats!

Note the snow on the wooden bridge. Later we drove to nearby Diamond Lake. Also in the Umpqua National Forest. It was still frozen. The strong ocean winds and salt air turn the roots of this fallen tree into a giant, bleached spider. Those faint lines you see in the distance, inside the rocks make up an oyster farm.
