Saturday, November 26, 2016. The Elf Met Jesus. I wasn't willing to sign up for the whole Elf On The Shelf drama. I realize I have my creative moments (stay tuned) but I'm also forgetful, sleepy, time-strapped and not-that-interested. The girls both learned of this nosey little elf from school and friends. They each wrote a letter to the North Pole asking Santa to PLEASE send an Elf to our house. Sigh. Did I mention I black Friday shopped with the girls? In other news, our tree is up. Tuesday, January 3, 2017. Feed Me, I'm Yours! In the Spring of 2006, I was introduced to baby food. I'll never forget that poor bag of frozen peas I tried to steam, pulverize and freeze in ice cube trays as "homemade baby food". Pea skins don't soften and were so tough Ross couldn't help but gag with every attempt to swallow. Poor thing. I also can't forget the desperate attempts Aunt Heather and I made to get Maisie to take a bottle before my maternity leave ended (Shot glasses were even utilized).

Thursday, December 29, 2016. The Countdown is On. I recall Christmas Vacay as a kid being filled with sledding, hot cocoa, dried-out gingerbread and thumbprint cookies. Enter 2016. We have zero snow, the kids are into. Coffee-creamer and the cookies barely made it to Christmas. The times they are a changin'. By the end of the ordeal, all was good. I'm not sure if the employee in the background was a creeper, or just secretly cussing us out under his breath. Of course it was. December 31, 2016 at 5:54 AM.

Saturday, December 31, 2016. New Years Eve 2016. Rewind to New Years Eve 10 years ago, 15 years ago, 21 years ago. (no comment), but Holy Smokes, am I seriously that old? On Friday we spend the afternoon with the kids at the Science Center. Yep, it's all educational until Daddy starts relating various underwater sounds to bodily functions. Ross could barely contain himself. This is Ross learning how herring communicate through their anuses. Silent hysterical laughter ensued. Boys still at the same place.

We thought our little fella would not like the Easter bunny (especially after I saw this hilarious bit. But he loved him! He also loves candy it turns out, and has quite a competitive spirit on an Easter egg hunt. So different from last year!
