Thursday, June 30, 2005. Well, she's hard to find. But this kit was poorly casted. Check out all the pin holes and mold lines. It's taking me awhile to fix her up. Tuesday, August 30, 2005. Time to sand and putty up this kit. Unfortunately, I noticed that some of the mold release is STILL being stubborn after a bath in the purple stuff. Half of the kit is covered by this stubborn, Thai recast type mold release. The only way I know now to remove it is to lightly sand off the stuff. Tuesday, January 31, 2006. Onegai 01: Glueing together some hair parts. Still have to resculpt the missing pieces here, glueing some parts that are done with sanding. So onto priming to flesh out any flaws, only to see the weight of the heavy Thai resin buckle under my skewers and break into even more pieces. Fragile AND heavy material. Dam Thai resin! Saturday, December 31, 2005. Stayed up all night till 7am to finish him on time cause of all the waiting for various layers of paint, glue, and finishes to dry before moving onto the next steps. Watching paint dry is no fun. Ok Here's a small pic of the finished product. I'll have to edit and update my gallery soon. In the mean time, I need to sleep. As much as I want to complete my FOmar pinky:st figure, I'm stumped at the moment, waiting to get supplies for the details he'll need, like jewelry jump rings for his section ID holder, and etching saws to scribe in linear details on his cloth. Friday, July 29, 2005. Felicia: putty'n up the base. Since all her wieght is on her head, I have to make extra sure that her legs and feet will be secured onto the base. This means that I have to recheck and reputty around her feet so that she'll fit snuggly. And I'll have to keep adding till I feel that she's got enough support. Sunday, October 30, 2005. Mahoro: shading dark grey. I'm just finishing off the certain dark grey areas as well as the tinsy blue areas. I sometimes mask off areas when I'm shading. And especially when I'm using a perticularly dark color. They're harder to get out if you mess up. If you look closely, I took a shot of one of the boots with shading and one without, just to compare the before and after shots. Monday, November 28, 2005. Mahoro: Basecoating and shading skintones. My camera is coroporating again so I could take upclose pics of her eyes and the skintones so far. I've been having unresolved computer problems at home, so I'm unable to update and upload files as often as I'd like. And without pics, my updates are pretty much useless.
