Brad and Cassia: Alcohol doesn't freeze...
http://bradcassia.blogspot.com/2010/04/alcohol-doesnt-freeze.html
Our life in Chicago, with a large emphasis on what we're eating and drinking here. On Wednesday, April 14, 2010. We didn't drink any good cheap wine this week. In lieu of that, I want to show you what happened in our fridge this week. I open the fridge and notice a weird brownish liquid underneath the veggie drawer. Thinking that there was just some really old cilantro I hadn't remembered that had leaked (gross! I'll keep it on the shelf from now on. Search For Wines and Foods. Recipe of the Moment - Tur...

Our life in Chicago, with a large emphasis on what we're eating and drinking here. Cheap Wine of the Week Wednesday. On Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Labels: cheap wine of the week. This week's cheap wine(s) of the week comes from the spring wine tasting night we hosted on Friday. We tasted a lineup of eight different wines, and most of them were good, with the two Chards we had being notable exceptions. Here was the list:. 1) 2008 Cortijo Viura. 2) 2008 Kilda Unoaked Chardonnay. 5) 2008 Chalone Pinot Noir.

http://bradcassia.blogspot.com/2010/04/weekly-recipe-wrap-up.html
Our life in Chicago, with a large emphasis on what we're eating and drinking here. On Sunday, April 4, 2010. Happy Easter, friends! It's a joyous day, and it's joyously beautiful here in chicago, with lots of trees budding and birds singing to celebrate the risen Lord! And in the spirit of spring renewal, we're finally getting some more food pictures up on the blog! So, marching on! The first recipe of the bunch was Linguine with Tuna Puttanesca. All in all, very light, fresh-tasting, and enjoyable!

It's that day again! It's the 2008 The Velvet Devil Merlot. Go try it sometime! Or remember next year that I posted a cheap Merlot once and look it up and try it then! That is all. See you next week. On Monday, January 25, 2010. So I got five. And put them in a bowl. And put some stone and water in the bowl with them. Its been...

Our life in Chicago, with a large emphasis on what we're eating and drinking here. Thanksgiving Time in Chicago. On Monday, November 30, 2009. It's been a crazy time here in the windy city, and we've had a ton of friends and family over to visit us! It's been great but very busy, so the blog has been sadly neglected. But here's a big Thanksgiving post. My parents came in town for Thanksgiving and have been here for 5 days or so. This was my first Thanksgiving hosting and it went really well! 8) When you ...

July on the Fly. The month of July has been busy and full of small but wonderful moments. J and I have thoroughly enjoyed being home with Landon and Landon has been nothing but smiles (well almost) having mom and dad there with him all day. Daily we look at Landon and each other and are overcome with such satisfaction and love. I can't believe how much I love being a mom to Landon and a wife to J. Landon is growing sooooooo fast! Below are some of the highlights we have had in July. How cute are you!

I'm 30 and it is my 1st Fathers Day! Turning 30 happened the exact way I wanted it to. Quiet, slow, no big deal made about it and lots of time with my little family. The biggest birthday gift was the fact that the 9th was the last day I had to work for 10 weeks! We are so so so looking forward to our time with Landon. He is so much fun to watch grow. Marriage kicks ass when you are with a great woman! Safe to say it is a male lion. His favorite animals were ducks! You get the idea. Good times with friends.

Imagine leaving a room completey drenched in sweat with not a single square millimeter of your body dry. As a matter of fact if you were to ring out your clothes it would easily fill the majority of a pint sized glass. . Such was my experience on Firday afternoon for 90 minutes. A friend told me about (actually more dared me) a type of yoga that you do in a 105 degree room. I took the challenge on and I loved it. . If you want a friend to go with you hit me up. . This is at week 6-7.

It has been awhile since we posted anything besides pictures. So for anyone who still reads our blog this is a life update. I could not start a life update without starting off with our precious new son. He tipped the scale today at 16 pounds. Lately he has been developing and doing new things each week, the biggest being rolling over. The rest of them have been stuff like grabbing things better or putting his big toe in his mouth. Monumental I know! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Just the Three of Us.

Go with all your heart. Thursday, April 22, 2010. White People Like Earth Day. I couldn't let this day pass without blogging because what kind of environmentalist would I be if I didn't blog about ways we can be "green." I hate to be so cliche, but as Asian as I like to be, I really am a white on the inside. Just glancing down the list of StuffWhitePeopleLike. All of this to say: we should focus on #64 Recycling. This is what StuffWhitePeopleLike has to say about it:. Who's book is titled Eaarth. He beli...

We continue to have new experiences and meet new friends! Here are a few snap shots from the last few weeks. Things have been going well. . . errr. . .as well as you can hope for with a newborn. It is funny how you have these grandiose visions of what parenthood will be like. Then the reality hits and your visions turn in to prayer requests for sleep and sanity! This was our first family outing to our favorite place along the bay. Every day last week, while I was at work, I got an email from home! He was...

It has been an exciting month as parents. It seems like everything changes from week to week. It also feels as if the time is racing by. Landon is so incredibly happy all the time. He loves to hear himself and constantly screams loud short bursts no matter where we are. We call it Landon talk. The other biggy that happened is that he said "da da", and now says it all the time. He woke us up at two in the morning the other day by saying long drawn out "daaa, daaa's" Heart stopping stuff I tell ya!

My adventures with food and wine and everything wonderful in between. Tuesday, January 25, 2011. With a Wine Dinner to Boot! I am finally back to the world of blogging. I know it's been forever, and you'll have to excuse me for that. A little thing called a PhD program has gotten in the way. But who needs to spend more of their life studying when there is perfectly good blogging to be done? That's my attitude at this moment, anyway. On sale Christmas ornaments that are still good for winter! I'm a wife a...

My adventures with food and wine and everything wonderful in between. Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Cheap Wine of the Week Wednesday. Here's our cheap wine of the week this week! We enjoyed this with some friends who made us delicious chicken and pork tacos. Yummy! I brought a straight cabernet and this cabernet/syrah blend because both would have a little spice to pair with the tacos. And both were good with it, but this one was better. Both Brad and I really liked it. Links to this post. This, a cup of...

My adventures with food and wine and everything wonderful in between. Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Chicken Cavatappi with Lemon and Goat Cheese. Note to self, always make recipes titles by adding the Italian name for the pasta used. people will think the recipe is fancier. now, on to some fancy-sounding-pasta-that's-really-not-that-fancy. :). I promise to post pictures (taken by the lovely Carrie. How hard could it be? Giant pot of goodness. Double the pleasure, double the yum. 2 chicken breasts, pounded ...
