Warm Bottles & Hot Flashes: June 2009
http://warmbottlesandhotflashes.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 22, 2009. I miss my sis. Tuesday, June 2, 2009. It's not you, it's me. I’ve hit a period of malaise and it’s lasted longer than I thought it would. April is the anniversary month of Josh’s diagnosis. It seems that I slow down every April. It was such a time of helplessness and uncertainty. It was the beginning of the end of what was, up to that point, the best part of my life. Spring comes and I seem to hit an icy patch. But I tend to drop a lot of extras and let a lot of projects slide.

The Gross Family: God's sovereignty in the Court room
http://thegrossfam.blogspot.com/2013/06/gods-sovereignty-in-court-room.html
Tuesday, June 18, 2013. God's sovereignty in the Court room. One thing many people may not realize about foster care, is how much time foster parents spend in court rooms. We have had 3 court appointments in the last 3 months and have 4 more in the next 6 weeks. This may be more than what the typical foster family experiences but every foster family does spend significant time in court. We didn't. Expect our fostering to include learning the "ins and outs" of the U.S. legal system. For the kingdom is the...

The Gross Family: November 2011
http://thegrossfam.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Thought I'd share a devotional I wrote for a friend's baby shower : ) Hope it encourages some moms out there today! A sacred joy and blessing yet a noble and divine responsibility. Being this incredible and serious adventure, mothers strive to do their VERY BEST! There is only ONE thing that will make you a successful mom. The only ONE essential to being a good mother is fearing and obeying the Lord. But what does that look like? In mothering, we MUST remember the lost world ar...

The Gross Family: December 2010
http://thegrossfam.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 8, 2010. They look harmless enough. Until they decide to do the laundry for you. Yep, they carried this lil tikes table in here all by themselves : ). This would be detergent in the fabric softener opening. And unmeasurable amounts of detergent in with the laundry. Playing in the living room seems harmless enough too until you see there are no toys out in sight and only a step ladder by the suddenly bare Christmas tree. Oh, and this pile of ornaments on the footstool. 07- DNA request ...

The Gross Family: September 2013
http://thegrossfam.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Yesterday was good. It was a day that painted a picture of hope. A soft warm glow on the horizon. The eager anticipation for the sun to burst forth and illuminate all of God's creation with His glory. A particular burden of a lost loved one in my life has been especially heavy the past few years. With time, hearts seem harder, choices seem even more devastating. There was that soft warm glow on the horizon. It reminded me God is not dead. It reminded me God's love c...I can...

The Gross Family: April 2011
http://thegrossfam.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 14, 2011. I may never have mentioned this before, but I teach private art lessons. I really enjoy teaching under 2 conditions: the student desires to learn and the student is teachable. Any other situation is filled with frustration and dread. We all know "students" can find themselves in all sorts of classrooms for any number of reasons other than desiring to learn and a heart to be teachable. Do you desire to know God, to be teachable? Yes, our time devoted to "the Word IS God" does ref...
