Bradley "Chum" Carter is a guitarist, banjoist, and composer for film. Bradley is the guitar player, singer, and songwriter for Asheville, North Carolina's hard rocking trio, Max Gross Weight. As a banjoist Bradley is a member of the Newgrass Quintet, Asheville New Grass. An ensemble that features some of the Western North Carolina region's best instrumentalists. Bradley is also a former member of popular WNC jamgrassers Sanctum Sully. And Oakley Anderson Moore.

Stuck in another dimension. I'm also increasingly frustrated by my inability to book gigs for Max Gross Weight. In Asheville itself. Max Gross Weight has become my main music project. How a 40 something (who started playing bluegrass at 31 and with obsessive dedication) ends up in a rock and roll band is kind of wild even to me. I think the music just expresses all the feelings you can't really access playing acoustic music. And playing loud rock music is just fun as shit. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

None of this even touches on practicing all this material. I've got about 1 set that I feel I've got at about 90% right now, maybe more depending on the sound. I've still got some work to do to get it closer to 95% or better. How do I get my material dialed in even better? Practice at home with live sound as much as possible.
