Friday, August 15, 2008. This morning the phone rang around 7:30. I assumed it was an insurance adjuster. Then I noticed on the Caller ID that it was the Carol Stream Police. When I answered the phone, I wondered what they needed. The officer on the phone informed me that they had Garrett's shoes. We have an appointment to pick them up today. Monday, August 11, 2008. It is I. Do not be afraid". As was our experience when Garrett was hospitalized last year, he was so cooperative. He didn't complain about the neck brace or the IVs or all the poking prodding and questions. Wednesday, October 8, 2008. The rains came down and the floods came up.". Just wanted to let everyone know that the McFarlanes are still here and doing well. When I figure out how to do it on Matt's laptop, I will post pictures of what our house looked like when it flooded on September 13 and of our kids leaving from our yard in a canoe the next day. Thursday, August 21, 2008. Thank you everyone for all of your prayers for our family and especially for Garrett. He is a walking (running) miracle and a testimony to God's grace in our lives! Also, when he runs, he is dragging one of his legs. He says nothing hurts, but it seems to bother him to put pressure on his left leg. Thursday, August 14, 2008. Yesterday Garrett was looking and sounding much more like himself, but he was still moving pretty slowly and acting a bit sore.
