baka gaijin: October 2006

http://bradthebakagaijin.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html

The continuing adventures of a hapless Aussie lost in the murky depths of Tokyo. Sunday, October 08, 2006. The meeting place was Shinjuku. When I got there Wakana and Kath were already there in their yukatas. I was unsure how to tie myself up, so I asked Wakana to help. She was unsure too, but we went off to a quiet spot in the station (not easy considering Shinjuku station is the busiest in the world with over 2 million people passing through every day) and we dressed me in my yukata. But the good thing...

The continuing adventures of a hapless Aussie lost in the murky depths of Tokyo. Sunday, January 07, 2007. Road Trip part 1: Nagoya. So, the road trip (or more accurately rail trip) was about to start. Since we had a special pass we planned to make the most of it. The only problem is that the pass only allowed local trains, no shinkansen. So we were steeling ourselves for a very, very tiring trip. But it didnt turn out so bad. The next day it was off to Nagoya castle. It was all very impressive to me...

http://bradthebakagaijin.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html

The continuing adventures of a hapless Aussie lost in the murky depths of Tokyo. Saturday, September 09, 2006. Nova is finished. The new job requires no formal wear. A celebration/ritual must be observed. With these thoughts in mind I decided to have a bbq on the Tama river and after finishing cooking I burned every damn tie that I own! No bbq/ night outside is complete without fireworks. So, of course Johnboy was in his element, setting them off and almost blowing us up. Posted by baka gaijin at 7:09 PM.

maori on the move: March 2008

http://maorionthemove.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html

Maori on the move. Saturday, March 29, 2008. I ventured to this little. The vendors were selling bikinis, inflatable toys, beer, food, clothes. well basically everything EXCEPT sarongs! I couldn't believe it! The only beach in the world that I have been to of late that has nary a sarong in sight! By jove, this perhaps was the most impressive part of my journey to this sandy shore. I arrived in the morning to find the entrance packed with. Lads and lassies that sell handmade stuff) and many a visitor....

maori on the move: Single Parenting

http://maorionthemove.blogspot.com/2011/09/single-parenting.html

Maori on the move. Saturday, September 03, 2011. There are many pros and cons to being a single mum (and I imagine to being a single dad as well). Sometimes as a single parent you wonder if you are doing enough or doing too much, if your child is doing ok, if they are not doing ok, the guilt that comes with single parent territory I would venture is almost double that of a two parent family. Time for self (again is there any really? Is it any easy job? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A procrastanator...

Maori on the move. Friday, December 28, 2007. Jandals. Barefeet. Shorts n singlets. Barbeques. Cold beers. Fish 'n chips. That twang in the accent. Sketti on toast. Pies. Barefeet. L&P. World Famous in New Zealand). Tattoos proudly on display "bro". Most adjectives punctuated with "az". Pohutukawa. The salt air. The burning sun. The laid back attitude. Christmas crackers. Simple pleasures are always appreciated that much more after a long abscence. You just gotta love it! Tuesday, December 18, 2007.

http://maorionthemove.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html

Maori on the move. Thursday, January 31, 2008. I know, for some chaps it's some far flung exotic location, rarely spoken of and almost never visited. For some ladies, a romantic ideal that is secretly sought yet vehemently denied exisistence. Here in the land of Golden Tequila and Abundant Cacti, Chivalry is not some far flung exotic getaway nor a romantic ideal. It is part of daily life. Yes ladies Chivalry exists! But I am a Strong Independent Working Woman and. well bollocks to that.

maori on the move: Stalled at the finish line

http://maorionthemove.blogspot.com/2008/07/stalled-at-finish-line.html

Maori on the move. Friday, July 18, 2008. Stalled at the finish line. Yes it has been a while between drinks here on the Maori in Mexico site. But all has not been dull in the life of this Maori. To fill in the gaps. Most people arrive in Mexico to take advantage of the cheap and ever plentiful golden, bubble filled beverage beer, sample the local delicacies ( cran. The whole labour thing was a bit of an anti-climax really (probably because I was well. An hour and some later, the next travelling Maori ma...

Maori on the move. Thursday, October 13, 2011. Idiots who pilot boats. Rena Astrolabe Reef = A disaster that never should have happened. Seriously how in the name of all that is a higher power did the captain manage to hit a reef that appears in maritime maps? Did he think he was the captain of the Titanic, that the reef just appeared out of nowhere, that he has no blame? Pissed off and pensive in Mexico. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). http://maorionthemove.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Maori on the move. Tuesday, February 26, 2008. I've lived in a few big cities (and a few smaller ones) round the globe, and been witness to how the women of the world (and in some cases men) do themselves up on public transport or in public areas. Not being much of a face paint fan myself, I am always amazed at the way in which it is applied on bumpy roads and in lurching underground transportation. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). maori on the move: September 2010

http://maorionthemove.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Maori on the move. Thursday, September 30, 2010. A voice cried down the phone (They beat me up! My eyes are swollen shut! Tell them to stop! Out of the blue my phone rang. This was what I heard. Imagine. First thoughts; a loved one. Then the horror, the shaking hands, the jumbled thought process. I (not that calmly) answered. (all in Spanish). Enter a gruff, agressive voice; "We have kidnapped him. I'm the leader of the blah, blah, blah cartel and we'll kill him if you don't pay us! I highly doubt it.

http://maorionthemove.blogspot.com/2008/11/arrival.html

Maori on the move. Monday, November 03, 2008. I was feeling the urge for something sweet so I headed to the local OXXO (the Mexican convenience store chain) to get me that chocolate fix, and lo and behold I spied a Cadbury's Crunchie. Bar By gum and by golly I've not seen one of those little gems outside the Southern hemisphere! Have yet to try it and maybe the Moro, Pinky Bar, Picnic or the Flake will turn up soon. Here's hoping! Yay for Cadbury making a foray into Tequila Land! View my complete profile.

Brad the Art Guy

Wednesday, October 13, 2010. I'm happy to report that business has been steadily growing to the point that I have multiple client projects on the go, at any given time. I'm particularly enjoying meeting and corresponding with clients from all over the world. It's a truly amazing thing to know that your art is being viewed and appreciated globally! The variety of jobs has also been an unexpected bonus. I'm definetly getting to flex my creative muscles in so many new ways! A client in Australia recently co...

world religions

Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Friday, March 4, 2011. Tuesday, February 15, 2011. The current events in Egypt have, for me at least, drawn attention to the muslim world. However, for a revolt in the middle east, religion is playing a surprisingly small role. The majority of the focus seems to be on pure social change - after three decades of oppression and rigged elections, the Egyptian people finally had enough, and ejected Mubarak. Monday, February 7, 2011. Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Will do the trick.

Brad The Bastard

That Brad Sure Is A Bastard! By Brad The Bastard. Kaitlyn Hunt’s Mom Planning To Harass Young Victim. I understand Kelley Hunt-Smith, the mother of this year’s most famous child batterer, Kaitlyn Hunt, believes her daughter received injustice not justice. Kelley Hunt-Smith is a mother (while not a very good one in my opinion) but still a mother, and genuinely feels the felonies her daughter were convicted of aren’t real crimes. While no evidence supports such an accusation. Why would she plan on attendin...

Brad The Bike Boy. Sunday, March 4, 2018. Ignitech TCIP4 as a replacement for Marelli Digiplex. I alluded to this on Facebook, but figured I should put up a bit more info as there's not a lot out there. It's also a continuation on from this post - Dellorto carb tuning on a Moto Guzzi Sport 1100, with some gearing and ignition rambling. As one of the theories I had on the poor low speed running was it being related to ignition timing. Then filed a slot into the front edge to allow the original loom connec...
