Brad the Nomad

Saturday, 25 November 2017. A Journey Back in time on Southern Prairie Railway. On my latest visit back to Canada, my nephew and I went on a little adventure, touring some of the sights in Southwestern Saskatchewan. Though I lived many years close by, this an area I have spent very little time there , especially as a tourist. We covered quite a bit of ground for one day and it was good fun throughout. Yup, I can't figure it out. The main petroglyph area. Sadly Edouard died at the early age of 23. Thanks ...

Brad the Nomad: March 2013

http://bradthenomad.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, 9 March 2013. Touring Around Chiang Mai. Doi Inthanon, Chiang Dao, etc. Click above to see photo album. Several months into my latest Asian adventure, I had the rare treat of Canadian visitors, nephew Jason and his significant other, Tanya. Usually I am here studying massage, yoga, qigong or other things along the holistic healing avenue and feel guilty if I get sidetracked . This visit gave me an excuse to unabashedly don my Tilley hat and play the tourist :-). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Brad the Nomad: March 2012

http://bradthenomad.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Monday, 12 March 2012. The Remarkable Chi Nei Tsang. It's official, I am now trained in the amazing therapeutic technique known as Chi Nei Tsang. You may recall me mentioning this massage in my blog: http:/ bradthenomad.blogspot.com/2011/03/yoga-in-thailand.html. What exactly is Chi Nei Tsang? Well I am afraid there is likely still some vestige of this knotted in your belly. This massage can help work a lot of this out. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Sunday, 21 December 2014. Nasi Kandar curry chicken from Penang. Penang Nasi Kandar chicken curry. The meal this week is coming from Penang AKA Food Paradise. Why is it food paradise? There are very strong communities of both Chinese and Indian as well as the local Malay style food. It is a very competitive food scene and even the diners are competitive and willing to queue up for a long time for that certain hawker food dish. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Regina Monoblogue: September 2010

http://sarahinregina.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 21, 2010. I was supposed to be reading but I really wanted to get outside and enjoy the sunny fall day we had last weekend so I decided to find out where Regina is hiding its trails. Just east of town I found the White Butte Trails. That in the winter become x-country ski trails. Other than some wet areas that required a bit of dodging into the trees to avoid wet feet it was a nice walk. Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Little did I know that there are ferryboat tours on Wascana Lake.

The Regina Monoblogue: March 2011

http://sarahinregina.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. In February, the coldest, darkest, most dreariest part of winter we decided to check out Moose Jaw. Moose Jaw is a city about an hour away west of Regina with a well known spa, art gallery and underground tunnels to be explored. We stayed at the Mineral Springs Hotel. The Yvette Moore Gallery. Is a truly great find for local arts and great food. Everything from pottery to pictures and the quaintest women's bathroom sitting area ever is here.

The Regina Monoblogue: January 2011

http://sarahinregina.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 8, 2011. White Butte Ski Trails. I know that I posted about these trails in the summer when I was out exploring looking for unpaved trails. Now that it's winter, almost the end of winter actually (I haven't been updating this blog very often and it's now March) the trails have been in full swing as cross country ski trails. Not a far drive from Regina, 10-15 minutes, they are maintained by volunteers of the Regina Ski Club. And used by many, many people. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Cycling in North Dakota. It's been awhile since I've updated the blog. Time flies when you are having fun and no internet hook-up at home to blog. These pictures are from the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. In North Dakota which is a few hours away from Regina. The "Teddy Tour" was Easter weekend 2011 with the Wascana Freewheelers. The Regina Monoblogue: Historic Reesor Ranch

http://sarahinregina.blogspot.com/2010/11/historic-reesor-ranch.html

Sunday, November 7, 2010. I really wanted to go horseback riding and also to get away from the city into the hills. The Historic Reesor Ranch. In the Cypress Hills was the best decision I could have made. I got to stay in the 100 year old house that is actually 2 houses built together with the family that still ranches there today. There is so much history and although its completely maintained I don't think too much has changed which was really neat. Theresa promised me that they are good.

The Regina Monoblogue: October 2010

http://sarahinregina.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 29, 2010. Saskatchewan grows corn which according to me means its probably going to have some good corn mazes (maizes). A friend and I went out last weekend to Pumpkin Hollow. With her little boy to check it out and see what it was all about. They make great popcorn balls, have a sandbox full of corn, a cow train, a pile of hay to climb up in, a mini petting zoo, pony and wagon rides, a corn gun and a corn maze that was a little bit hard to get out of! The Regina Monoblogue: June 2010

http://sarahinregina.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 30, 2010. The yearly progressive dinner ride is just that. We started at one house for appetizers, rode via the scenic route to the next for the main course and off to the last stop for dessert and a hot tub soak. It had such a big turnout this year we had to split into 2 riding groups. The Wascana Center and the Legislature. Saturday, June 26, 2010. It was your typical beach scene, beach volleyball, families spread out on blankets and towels, bikinis and board shorts, boats with tubes tr...
