REDEEMER CHURCH OF MADISON. Pallets, People, and Preaching. Give me a moment to explain. It took little time to realize I had discovered a new hobby. I immediately loved the idea of redeeming. That old, useless wood. As a pastor, nothing is more appealing than seeing something pulled from the trash heap and made useful again….something that was rejected. By the world and destined. For the fire being saved, resurrected,. It wasn’t that we saw different. My new hobby has taught me more about the heart.

GULF COAST PASTOR: Israel, May They Prosper Who Love You
http://gulfcoastpastor.blogspot.com/2010/04/israel-may-they-prosper-who-love-you.html
Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Israel, May They Prosper Who Love You. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you. Some Christians today say we should not support the Jews or Israel. Incredibly, some say the Israelis are no different than the terrorists they fight. Israelis and the terrorists they fight, however, are no more equivalent than the USA and the terrorists we fight. We are not always right, but we are assuredly more right than those we oppose. It has been asked how exactly can Chri...

I’ve been telling them how you told me about Jesus and I got saved and then how you ‘baba-tized’ me. Brother Joe, thank you for telling me about Jesus. Thank you for ‘baba-tizing’ me.” She then introduced her friends each by name. They all went back to their playing. The Wit and Wisdom of Pastor Joe Brumbelow. Thank you Brenda...

Monday, April 2, 2012. Basic Baptist Doctrines / Beliefs. Below is material we used in teaching Deacons. I reprint it here, with some revision, to remind us of what we believe. GULF COAST PASTOR: Cecil The Lion, Hunting, Paige Patterson
http://gulfcoastpastor.blogspot.com/2015/08/cecil-lion-hunting-paige-patterson.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Cecil The Lion, Hunting, Paige Patterson. HARARE, Zimbabwe (BP) - With mainstream and social media in an uproar over the apparently illegal killing of Cecil the lion, Baptist leaders have underscored the legitimacy of legal hunting and condemned the hypocrisy of valuing wildlife over unborn children. The Bible says much about hunting and without one derogatory word," said Paige Patterson, president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Patterson denounced illegal huntin...

REDEEMER CHURCH OF MADISON. My New Job…. The interminable transition/reformation/vacation has finally come to an end. Praise the Lord! Now, it’s back to reality. Kind of. How’s that for reality? Truth is, I’m more excited than I’ve ever been! But now it’s time to get back to work. I have a fire in my soul to get back in the pulpit – if I can find one, that is. Trust me – both barrels are loaded. I can’t wait! These are exciting days for the Darsey family. We’ve never been more unsettled. At the s...Leave...

A Disappointing Week… | Deep in the Heart...

Deep in the Heart…. Thoughts from the heart of a Christian still learning to walk with God. A Disappointing Week…. 8230;and a frustrating one. But in practice, what I find as I observe people who wear their Christian faith like clothing, is that there are ways to put basic Christian principles aside, in order to do what you want to do, and then find something that looks and sounds Christian to use in order to justify what you are doing. And who makes the decision about where to draw it? On June 18, 2015.

Deep in the Heart…. Thoughts from the heart of a Christian still learning to walk with God. From Ferguson to Baltimore…A few random observations. After reading and watching myriads of reports about both incidents, I would like to share a few observations. 1 This is not a partisan, political grandstand, and the attempts to turn it into one have not contributed to a resolution of the problem. Missed the mark by a wide mile in its assessment of the problem. 4 Resolving the root causes of deep-seated problems.
