Brancaster Allotment Society

Slugs & Snails. News & Events. 4 Sale & Wanted. Welcome to Brancaster Allotment Society. Our seed potatoes are bought, we’ve looked at all our seeds and bought new ones where we need them. So, all ready to go. It’s lovely having the allotment, and this is a really nice time. What sort of a year will we have? What will do well this year? We are not going to grow so many main crop potatoes this year, but have made the same resolution as we always do about eating the earlies before they get too big.

The Brancaster Brewery

Brancaster Brewery takes its name from Brancaster Staithe, a north Norfolk village steeped in brewing history. Located in the heart of prime barley growing terroir, records show brewing here dates back to Roman times. So great was the demand for barley from this area that reputedly the country's largest malthouse was built in Brancaster in 1797, yards from The Jolly Sailors. Pub Ironically the malthouse was built using bricks salvaged from the nearby Roman fort! See 'A brief history and tasting notes.
