Wednesday, November 18, 2009. In this picture, i took a shot of a noose hanging from a ceiling. there is also a elmo doll hanging with the noose but was blurred out when the saturation was decreased. i wanted alot of grey in this picture to show a fight of light and dark. The elmo doll was added in memory of a friend i grew up with. they light shades of grey used portrayed a sense of melancholy while the small light coming from the window represented a small sense of hope.

Creating a blow out effect simply means capturing a lot of light in a single shot. this can be done by taking a picture outside during the day or in a bright room and turning the ISO on a camera up to a high number. one could also do this by using meter by using a very dim middle gray but using a high ISO would probably be the best way. Flash can be useful in some situations but not all. some pictures often look better taken in the dark with little to no excess light. the pros and cons of flash are as followed:. A) flash will elimate all blur in the picture. B) flash will also brighten and show all aspects of the subject. A) Flash dulls the picture by elimating other lights and colors. B) It can also add red eye and show defects in skin. C) Flash causes the background to extremely darken or be pitch black.
