Kayla's Cloth Kits: All About Fabrics
http://sewyourown.blogspot.com/p/here-is-some-information-i-put-together.html
Waterproof Cloth Diaper Outer Fabric. Up until recently, PUL was mainly produced by a company called Fabrite that had around 40 solid colors available. Fabrite has discontinued its line of PUL. Other companies have picked up the slack so PUL is still available. Most notably, JoAnn fabrics has begun to sell limited colors of PUL. You can find "Babyville" diapering fabric in the utility fabrics section and it seems to be working well for mamas so far. This is available anywhere from 100% wool to 75% wool w...

Kayla's Cloth Kits: All About Wool
http://sewyourown.blogspot.com/p/all-about-wool.html
Wool covers are often used for cloth diapering. Wool is an all natural fiber that has antimicrobial and stay dry properties. Wool fibers naturally contain lanolin which is a waxy substance that repels water and keeps sheep dry in wet conditions. Cloth diapering mamas take advantage of wool's lanolin to keep their babies dry in wet conditions! Look for softer varieties of wool like merino wool, and lambswool, even cashmere! Once your sweater is felted you are ready to sew! Wool should be washed as needed&...

Kayla's Cloth Kits: All About Notions
http://sewyourown.blogspot.com/p/all-about-notions.html
It is highly recommended that you use 100% polyester thread when sewing diapers. Thread that contains cotton can wick moisture to the outside of the diaper and cause clothes to get wet. I recommend Guttermann thread. It is very strong and comes in many great colors. It is available in any fabric store. I have also tried Sulky brand but wasn't impressed because it kept breaking and I would have to re-thread my machine multiple times. Is 1 inch thick and as the name implies, you fold it over the cut edge o...

Kayla's Cloth Kits: All About Laundering
http://sewyourown.blogspot.com/p/all-about-laundering.html
Before washing cloth diapers be sure to fold any rough hook tape down and attach it to a piece of loop tape on the cloth diaper. Inserts can be washed with your diapers. If using colored microfiber inserts it is advisable to wash them separate from the diapers for a couple of washes to prevent the color from bleeding onto your diaper fabrics and Aplix or Touchtape closures. Never use fabric softener when washing your re-usable cloth items. You should also never use dryer sheets when drying your re-us...
