Brass City Charter School. In the spring of 2013, a group of inspired Waterbury educators and citizens applied to the State of Connecticut for a public charter school that would serve Waterbury’s children in grades pre-K through 8. Their petition was successful, and Brass City Charter School (BCCS) opened its doors to 114 students in grades Pre-K through 1st that fall in the former St. Margaret’s School building at 212 Chestnut Avenue. We educate the whole child; academically, socially, and emotionally.

Brass City Charter School. Welcome to Brass City Charter School, Waterbury’s only state charter school. 2016-2017 will mark our fourth year, and we will welcome six grades in September: pre-K, K, 1, 2, 3 and 4. The school is open to all Waterbury residents, and we will add a grade a year until we are a full Pre-K through grade 8 school. At BCCS, we recognize that the number one factor impacting student achievement is teacher quality. Brass City Charter School 2014.

Brass City Charter School. Students needing bus transportation are served by the City of Waterbury school bus service. Routes are posted online at http:/ www.waterbury.k12.ct.us/. The phone number for the bus company is (203) 591-1847. BCCS hours are 7:30 am to 4:15 pm. Every other Friday dismissal will be at noon so that teachers can engage in professional development. We do not follow the City of Waterbury school calendar. Our calendar is posted on this website. School attendance is critical.

Brass City Charter School. A founder of Brass City Charter School, has had a varied career in grantswriting, volunteer coordination, bookkeeping, teaching, curriculum writing, and much more. She earned a degree in early childhood education from Southern CT State University and MEd in instructional design from Western Governor's University. STUDENT AND PARENT SUPPORT COORDINATOR.
