It's been a while. Every summer my fibre art gets put on the back burner so that I can manage the Avon River Heritage Museum. In Newport Landing, near Avondale. I love my job at the museum, where I get to organize art events, curate a handmade in Nova Scotia gift shop AND operate the 1760's inspired Lydia and Sally café. The only downside to my summer along the Avon River is that I tend to forget to tell all you lovelies about what I'm working on and where you can find my critters and artwork! Inkwell Mo...

Bryan says I'm a workaholic - perhaps it's true. I have a habit of over committing, I have the best intentions, life just gets in the way sometimes and things always tend to take longer than you'd think. I had hoped that this summer I would be able to create a new piece each week for my series " within every fibre. Currently on display at the Flying Apron Inn and Cookery. In Summerville (the other Summerville, just a little further down the Avon River, along Highway 215). I Believe I Can Fly. A few years...

Woodland Wool hits the road! Is there a better way to welcome in autumn than a road trip across Nova Scotia? To a corner I'm not incredibly familiar with at that. Next week my friend Michelle and I are headed off to Amherst for the Nova Scotia Fibre Arts Festival. This is my first time participating in this event and I'm so excited to not only be showing my work, but I'm also leading a needle felting workshop. What you can expect to cover:. Brief history of needle felting. Advice for planning a piece.

Woodland Wool: Pre-Shrunk 2016
http://woodlandwool.blogspot.com/2016/01/pre-shrunk-2016.html
It's time again for my most favourite new year's tradition - Argyle Fine Art's. Annual Pre-Shrunk group show. Each year artists compete to be a part of this collection of 200 miniature works of art. As usual I had to out-do my creations from last year and add even more detail to each piece. Let's just say that the 3-D petals on the front row of these sunflowers took over 3 hours alone. All are welcome to join us for the opening reception on Friday, January 22. Labels: Argyle Fine Art. Has expressed her c...
