blackskimmerblog: warm stones and silent walks
http://blackskimmer.blogspot.com/2007/06/warm-stones-and-silent-walks.html
A Celebration of the Rich Fragrant Chaos of Life. Saturday, June 2, 2007. Warm stones and silent walks. Once when I worked at the botanical garden in the Bronx, I was giving a forest tour. They always gave me the hard cases so i had this group of deaf kids. We had a great time! I just pointed at everything, we touched everything, we found cool stuff like the fluff that flies out of princess paulonia pods and incredibly intricate wood carvings by carpenter ants, so smooth. Lots of surprises like that.

blackskimmerblog: "Fuck!", A Preliminary Analysis
http://blackskimmer.blogspot.com/2015/05/fuck-preliminary-analysis.html
A Celebration of the Rich Fragrant Chaos of Life. Wednesday, May 20, 2015. The simple word 'fuck' is disturbing? What is the function of the word 'fuck'? Well it's basic meaning is to have sex. some men use it; "to fuck a woman" some women use it; "let's fuck". is it so qualitatively different than "lets make love"? I suppose fucking doesn't have to involve love. but does all 'lovemaking' that isn't 'fucking' involve love? We need a detailed anthropology of 'fuck'. Would it be so foul as to say: "human b...

A Celebration of the Rich Fragrant Chaos of Life. Friday, July 1, 2011. Troy-On-Hudson Unfurles Her Sails. After loosing another two pounds of sweat at African dance class in downtown Troy(thank you Emily), I walked two blocks down State street to the Hudson river where an amazing breeze and blaze of sunlight met me to dry the sweat off of me and the river calm and here comes a couple paddling kayaks upriver and the trees on the far shore and the seagulls wheeling above calling for the ocean and. And RPI...

A Celebration of the Rich Fragrant Chaos of Life. Thursday, October 6, 2011. At Last, Kissed By a Maiden With Golden Hair. In the early morning coolness under the pin oaks on the sidewalk of the Placid Baker cafe, a Honey bee comes to sip sweet coffee from my lips. "come on bee, there's a whole cup of it over there! But no, here she comes again the only woman to kiss me in a long time, yet i shoo her away, and finally where is she? Oh, man has she fallen into the coffee? My thoughts run from kissing to e...

blackskimmerblog: classification of finite simple groups
http://blackskimmer.blogspot.com/2007/03/classification-of-finite-simple-groups.html
A Celebration of the Rich Fragrant Chaos of Life. Wednesday, March 7, 2007. Classification of finite simple groups. Back to best labs summary contents. Here is another static tautological system with simple rules that will give us a surprisingly diverse but not totally chaotic behavior. No dynamics or random input required, though i suppose you could work out the consequences by seting up an iterative system with stochastic input to explore the space and 'discover' all the possible groups. hmmm. Two rota...

A Celebration of the Rich Fragrant Chaos of Life. Sunday, March 9, 2008. Want to Build a Honeybee Robot? Well, How Many Skills Are Packed Into That Tiny Critter? Grow as a larva. Defecate once, then. Pupate into an adult. Chew way out of cell! Eat pollen from cells. Beg for and accept brood food from nurse bees. Produce saliva in salivary glands to digest food. Cleaning self, brushing debris off body. Decide what to eat for each developmental stage. And preferentially feed, especially if queen larvae.

A Celebration of the Rich Fragrant Chaos of Life. Sunday, May 1, 2011. Ancestors of the Summer Meadow. Writing exercise after Richard Eberhart's 'The Groundhog'. First attempt. Original text after mine). One morning in July when i was a lad,. I visited that sweltering sundrenched meadow. Strewn with flowers and freckled with butterflies,. I found a dead possum. Resting on a bare patch of earth. Baking in the sun. His possum shape began its terrible transformations. The full moist meadow breathed. And tri...
