A Blog by Jessica J. Mazza. Monday, August 10. Wikipedia is our Friend. There is no slavery but ignorance. Liberty is the child of intelligence.". Robert G. Ingersoll. Supply a version of the truth for my fellow misinformed members of society. And in the most comprehensible. Way possible. For my first booklet, if you will, I will be tackling the hard hitting. Topic of Health Care: Is ObamaCare. In my first edition of Folie. What exactly is ObamaCare. What are the pros and cons of ObamaCare. The layout fo...

A Blog by Jessica J. Mazza. Wednesday, February 2. Back to the Blog. Despite my puny audience, my late new year's resolution is to keep to my blog. Here's to new and exciting ideas, and hopefully more profound ones than those that have already been posted! Or maybe just a wildly entertaining source straight from the keyboard of Jessica. Happy New Year and I hope everyone in and out of the Chicago region is enjoying the monstrous blizzard that just wiped out our streets! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

A Blog by Jessica J. Mazza. Friday, October 2. If one person didn't exist, Everyone's life would change." Katharine Kinkead, 19. Have you ever had one of those weeks where everything goes wrong to the point that logic points out that you should be overwhelmingly depressed, but somehow you find yourself in a decent. Well, as hard to believe as it is, I feel like I've been shit on enough this week to the point that I should be in an adolescent stage of grief (after all, I am. Be doing. Yes, there is a ...

A Blog by Jessica J. Mazza. Friday, February 4. I am struggling to put my nose to the grindstone on this blog. It's very hard to self-motivate when so much life is out there to be lived. That and I'd prefer not to make trivial comments. But today, a treat! While I struggle to get my brain synapsing, I'm going to leave an image of the coolest man as of my current movie-watching stage, badadadum:. Now, go dance in the hall and hum Concertino Alle Terme Sinfoni. Or whatever the fuck it's called. 'Ey!

AndrewFBaker DIY Publishing: Shelta
http://andrewfbaker.blogspot.com/2009/08/shelta.html
160;Monday, August 3, 2009. For this limited edition (only 5 made! Short story, I wanted to produce a printed document that had the look and feel of something both sacred and mundane, cared for and discarded. Utilizing fabric, tin-styled ceiling tiles, and a hand stitched binding, "Shelta" looks as if it could be a journal - which correlates to the writing within the piece itself - manufactured to be hidden amongst the remnants of the family involved. http://andrewfbaker.blogspot.com/2009/08/my-novel-is-now-in-bookstores.html

160;Monday, August 10, 2009. So today must just be a post-y day for me with this blog. And while this post does not really have anything to do with self-publication or the parameters of the self-publishing class, it does have a bit to do with self-efficiency and the DIY mentality. Plus I'm just super excited about it. I received my Farm in a Box from Atlanta-based Earth Sol. The yield on the plants is three to six times the yield of soil gardening per square foot! I've currently got organic Thai Basil an...
AndrewFBaker DIY Publishing: Howling at the Moon - a proposal
http://andrewfbaker.blogspot.com/2009/08/howling-at-moon-proposal.html
Howling at the Moon - a proposal. 160;Monday, August 10, 2009. Once upon a time, fairytales were –quite literally- the stuff of legend. They were the stories of the gods and the mortals, hovering about that limenal space between the two, and nearly always verging on the terrible. And they were fascinating, at least to me. The internal text layout has already been completed. Lime Glory Caps, a font with a gentle flourish, is used to accentuate the opening paragraph of each page, with Modern No. 20...I hav...
AndrewFBaker DIY Publishing: Market, Yourself
http://andrewfbaker.blogspot.com/2009/08/market-yourself.html
160;Friday, August 7, 2009. Has this ever happened to you? You've completed your masterpiece. Carefully bound the pages. Suffered papercuts and Hello Kitty bandages courtesy of your local Kinkos. Made sure your shipped a copy off to your Mom/Dad/Significant Other (or several copies if you are not from the south). And then sat back and watched with an ever-fading bliss as your hard work begins to collect dust. Well, no more! Afterall, the goal is to make. A little, right? Not throw it all to the wind.

Comments for the others. 160;Monday, August 10, 2009. So, I don't know if it's my computer or my browser or what, but apparently, I can not post a comment to anyone's blog if the comment box is embedded in the page. Pop-up comment boxes are fine. And Ian's blog, though embedded, is not a blogger blog, so it worked just dandy as well. At any rate, here are the comments to the other articles. Actually, to the vast majority of the articles. It is a really beautiful piece and so informative on so many levels.
AndrewFBaker DIY Publishing: July 2009
http://andrewfbaker.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Play it again, Sam. 160;Monday, July 27, 2009. I had some spare time this weekend between work and obsessively checking Facebook status updates to procrastinate from working on my novel even more by creating another Lulu book. I had been wanting to check out the new minibooks they have been advertising like mad, and I haven't personally done any full-color printing through them. So it is definitely a bit of an experiment for me. In the meantime, here is a link to the thing on Lulu. Apparently, I can't se...

A Blog by Jessica J. Mazza. Sunday, June 24. What will enter the public waves of The Internet? I'm really not sure. But in the meantime - that is, while I stall to write an actual post - why don't you let this little poem pluck the strings of your heart and introduce you to a lovely American poet that's not me, Dedicated to All My Absent Readers:. Written by James Wright sometime before I was born. Just off the highway to Rochester, Minnesota,. Twilight bounds softly forth on the grass. That we have come.
