After saying our good-byes to Andrea, his family and our little house in Roggio, we set off once again in a fully packed Vera (which we had mostly done the day before). Friday, 19 September 2008. Late July - Mid August. Normal life resumes somehow. We are regulars in the bar. It is nice to be recognized and asked what you did that day. I hum the Cheers tune. Last day in Roggio and we pack van. J gets talking to a couple of people from Croydon who's sister works in the shop and who know Charlton. We have the last supper in Roggio. Sunday, 27 April 2008. The night before the morning after. See you at the other side. Friday, 25 April 2008. Wednesday, 16 April 2008. Things are moving along. The house has finally found two nice tenants who will move in on the 26th. My mountain of stored stuff has been significantly reduced by selling the sofas, and shlepping the bed into the second bedroom here. When I've fetched the two drawers and the coffee table there should be only some boxes left, huzzah! Put the awning up; and so on, and so on.

Monday, 25 February 2008. Vera's off for electrical makeover. Left Vera at Jack's Garage in Ladbroke Grove this morning for some work: leisure battery, mains hook-up, sockets and engine service. Quote will be phoned tomorrow. The satnav led me over Westminster Bridge, past Buckingham Palace and Marble Arch; should have used the good ol' map instead! Friday, 22 February 2008. Tuesday, 11 March 2008. As for the latest upgrade, still haven't yet managed to spend a night in Vera. Jon bought her in October since when we've endured the seemingly endless wet cold winter. We are planning a night away in our closest campsite somewhere in Kent to do some 'snagging' - last minute fault-finding and remedying of fixtures and fittings.
