Thornhills in Dallas: July 2010
http://thornhillsindallas.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Thornhills in Every Season. Plans for the big, much anticipated Thornhill Reunion were compromised at the last minute due to some unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, but we headed out to Missouri nonetheless and still had a great time. We drove up on Friday, June 25, with our books on tape: The Hobbit (although it was so painful to listen to, we couldn't finish it) and Adventures in Odyssey (thanks Bekah! They visited me at work and took me to lunch at Chick-fil-a (I can't lie.it's becoming a n...

Thornhills in Every Season. Stuffing mix, potatoes, carrots, bell. Peppers, rolls, canned green beans, corn and cranberry sauce. About the only things I had to get were gravy, an onion, sparkling cider and a bag for the turkey! This was my first turkey, and initially I was pretty intimidated, but it turned out to be very easy! Completed my collection of Harry Potter DVDs. I got David a long-overdue disc golf bag with disc, Iron Man and some Starbucks "Christmas Blend" coffee. It was a very good day =).

Thornhills in Every Season. Time to play in the leaves. My heart is full . So much to be thankful for. Made rice crispie treats and ate good BBQ food. All in all, we had a great time with our sister and were reminded how much we love and miss our family. Thanks for taking the time to come and see us Brett! Prior to this experience, I was under the impression that carving pumpkins works the same way that I envision sculptures being created, namely, hacking away at it until you step back and voila! And in ...

Thornhills in Dallas: April 2010
http://thornhillsindallas.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Thornhills in Every Season. We started the month out with a free night at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra - scores from Oscar winning movies. Definitely my favorite symphony so far - from Lawrence of Arabia, to the Godfather, to the Wizard of Oz. Awesomeness. One of the best parts of Spring (specifically in April) are the tulips - they are everywhere, even downtown. And downtown Dallas at dusk is gorgeous. This is right outside the Meyerson Symphony Center. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). What David is Reading.

Thornhills in Every Season. I am starting to get a little more comfortable in my job and in my office (so fun! Learning to trust the Lord is a continual process, but he proves himself faithful every time. We are so thankful for our jobs and the opportunity David has to be here at Dallas Seminary. Thornhills in Every Season. I had the opportunity to visit my friend Kendra in Virginia for a quick weekend at the beginning of October. The highlight of the trip (besides seeing Kendra of course) was apple picking. It was a gorgeous day, we became pros at using the picker, only one bag was broken and we made some scrumptious apple donuts with our winnings! So great to spend some quality girl time with my friend! Christmas in California is always a requirement (as far as I am concerned) and I am so grate...

Thornhills in Every Season. So where have we been since August? As much as we were looking forward to Fall, I think it caught me off guard - I've been trying to catch up ever since! Here are some of the highlights. We decided to stay in this year since we've been so busy. We made soup, pumkin sandwhiches (like an ice cream sandwhich but with frosting in the middle), amazing spiced apple cider (with cinnamon sticks), rented Ghostbusters (which David had never seen before! We went to the Texas State Fair, ...

Thornhills in Every Season. With the one I love. I think I'm going to adopt her attitude. I mean my name is imprinted on the front of my Bible and written on the inside - clearly it belongs to someone. Sigh]. Don't get me wrong, I still desperately want my Bible back (& I'm still praying it turns up! Does that make sense? I’ve been struggling all day to put into words how I feel about this. I think I understand. I think I’ll enjoy the storm tonight. Back to the books. Greek 5 - Romans. While David is bac...

Thornhills in Every Season. Newness . chapter 3. She is certainly still a kitten with lots of energy and is a troublemaker =). All that to say, I finally have my cat (and for those of you who know me, you know that I need me a kitty - I can't deny it) and even though David just agreed to get her because he knew it's what I wanted (thank you hon! I'm pretty sure he likes her ; ). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Newness . chapter 3. Newness . chapter 2. Newness . chapter 1.
