Life and Times of Becca Temecula . . .: Superpowers
http://beccatemecula.blogspot.com/2015/05/superpowers.html
Wednesday, May 13, 2015. I have been enjoying listening to podcasts lately, including "This American Life," an hour-long podcast which is broken up into "acts". Each act is focused on a common theme, but tells a different story or perspective. Yesterday, I listened to an episode. He finds that how you answer tells a lot about what kind of person you are. And also, no matter which power people choose, they never use it to fight crime. (14 minutes). Never actually believing that it would work. Then the int...

http://beccatemecula.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 24, 2012. For Brett From Home (4/24/12). I miss having you around to share my little nothing-happenings. However, it has been kind of fun recording these daily thoughts. Years from now it will be interesting to see what concerned me and what I thought about. I mentioned on the phone that the sago palm is splitting. It is forming two cones. It isn't the sago palm right by the mailbox as I first told you. It is the one closest to Bobby's yard. The spring weather has been beautiful lately....

Wednesday, May 30, 2012. For Brett From Home (5/30/12). I never put up the hummingbird feeder. In fact, I never refilled any of the feeders. I think I didn't want to get their hopes up only to disappoint them when I leave. (Good excuse, no? Thank you, Wikipedia.]. I love that I have been able to talk and hang out with Jen more. I really enjoy having her live close. Jen took me and the boys out for a Mother's Day (Eve) movie. [" Chimpanzee. Was a great choice for our diverse group- young, oldish, male, fe...

Thursday, January 16, 2014. Books Read in 2013. Why didn't I start this list earlier, instead of the last week of May? I didn't realize how much I would enjoy looking back at the books read. PS Just because a book shows up on this list doesn't mean that I recommend it. Just that I read it. A Scoop of Desert: Lessons From Being Baked on Deployment. By Travis Stephensen (Non-fiction/Memoir? The Importance of Bing Earnest. By Oscar Wilde (Fiction/Play-via iBooks). By Jennifer Weiner (Fiction-via iBooks).

Thursday, June 4, 2015. Happy Birthday to Me. I got up and noticed more doors closed than usual. When I started down the hall, the boys heard me and started yelling, "Mom! They emerged a short time later with homemade cards and thoughtful comments. Everyone was cheerful as we got ready for school, and Ryan even made me Morning Orange Drink. I took Copper for a nice walk and got ready for the day. I had made arrangements to have lunch with two friends from church (before they knew it was my birthday).

Life and Times of Becca Temecula . . .: Curiosity
http://beccatemecula.blogspot.com/2015/02/curiosity.html
Wednesday, February 4, 2015. I was recently exposed to a new children's author, Oliver Jeffers. The boys and I have really enjoyed reading his books together. I enjoy his stories and art. I came across an interview he did and found this quote interesting:. Telling Stories and Asking Questions. By Oliver Jeffers, published on 11/9/2013 HuffingtonPost. Don't worry, Todd. You and I are both smart in our own ways, even if we don't have that natural curiosity.). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
