I have been installing beautiful custom flooring over the past 14-15 years and while I am out in front of the customer, I talk to them about replacing their trim and shoe. Older trim looks worn when reinstalled next to brand new floors. Replacing trim and shoe at the time of installation, is highly recommended. This can add a week or more to the project depending on how far out the contractor is booked.
