Time for a history lesson! | Shave da Ice
https://shavedaice.wordpress.com/2013/04/29/time-for-a-history-lesson
Shave da Ice – Our Inagural Shave! Rootie Tootie Fresh and Fruity Flavor Explosion! Time for a history lesson! April 29, 2013. So where did shave ice come from? Did the Hawaiian’s decide to create a better version of the snow cone? Did someone get the idea after pouring Kool-Aid over snow? Shave ice has actually been in Hawaii since the mid 1880s when Japanese immigrants began arriving in Hawaii. In Japan shave ice is called kakigori and it is said to have originated around the 11. Time for a history lesson! Rootie Tootie Fresh and Fruity Flavor Explosion! June 30, 2013. Many of you have heard me talk about the crazy amount of sugar typically used in shave ice syrup. Syrup from concentrate is generally made with 4 ounces of the flavor concentrate, 1 gallon of water and 5 POUNDS of sugar! Just thinking about that makes my blood sugar spike! Dave makes a mango syrup that is absolutely delicious and the pulp byproduct is even yummier! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

June’s 3rd Birthday | 1 Orange Cat
https://1orangecat.wordpress.com/2015/04/15/junes-3rd-birthday
June’s 3rd Birthday. We celebrated June’s 3rd birthday at our local community center on March 22nd. She and her friends had fun playing with all of the toys in the gym before heading downstairs to the party room to eat pizza and cupcakes. June had two dresses to choose from for her birthday party. One that was rainbow colored and fancy, or this cute flower one. She chose this one which I think looks so cute on her. She has had an opinion on what to wear for as long as I can remember. June participated in a soccer class for a couple seasons before retiring. Maybe one day she will try soccer again as she usually had a good time on the field, but she didn’t want to go anymore as she was more interested in taking ballet class. So we signed her up for a ballet/tap combo class at the community center. She likes the class and prefers tap to ballet. And here is June with her tap shoes. May 15, 2015. 8216;Easter’n Washington. Books that teach colors:. One Sheep, Blue Sheep. This is a board book that tells the tale of five silly sheep who start out white, but through some mishaps, they all turn different colors and the farmer sheers them all at the end and makes a colorful scarf. Vancouver Valentines | 1 Orange Cat

Travelzoo had a fabulous promotion for the Sheraton Wall Centre in downtown Vancouver, so we spent Valentine’s weekend in Canada. We drove straight to Stanley Park to check out the Vancouver Aquarium. The aquarium’s design is very nice with lots of tanks full of fish and the place has an overall nice flow to it. They also have penguins, dolphins, beluga whales, and an indoor tropical rainforest. Speaking of food, we ate yummy Malaysian food at Banana Leaf. And it was the tastiest sushi we have had in a l...

This page will help me keep track of the foods I have tried and what I think of them. 1 Rice cereal is delcious! 2 Oatmeal is even more delicious than rice cereal. (11/22/09). 3 Carrots, I LOVE them! 4 Sweet Potatoes are yummy! 5 Mangos are a success! 6 Peas, surprisingly good. (12/23/09). Update, now that I’ve had other foods, I don’t like peas as much. (01/11/10). 7 Apples, delicious! 8 Broccoli stems are good, but not as good as everything else I’ve tried. (01/02/10). Ask your mommy about the lamb fro...

Brian & Kendra – Food, Wine, Travel and Mini Golf
Food, Wine, Travel and Mini Golf. B&K Mini Golf Challenge. April 20, 2017. When a monk named Dom Perignon was making wine in 1693 and couldn’t get rid of the bubbles he reportedly tasted it and exclaimed Come Quickly, I am drinking the stars! He probably wouldn’t have imagined that 300 years later on a continent that hadn’t been discovered yet it would be poured as a pairing to fried chicken. For the breading, I used a combination of flour with some onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper and baking ...
