Fabric and paper on the floor. June 5, 2014. I was asked by the Simon and Schuster Marketing Department to design a Pop Up for the 2014 Caldecott Awards Banquet. This years winner was Brian Floca. For his book, Locomotive. Since S&S is the publisher of the book they get to create the Program that gets handed out at the event. That means I got to design the Pop and the booklet. A blog about printmaking, children's illustration, and books. Thursday, April 30, 2015. I got to go to The Tattered Cover. In Denver the other day. I love bookstores and this big marvelous bookstore is my favorite! We were at the one on 16th Street which is in an old building that has incredibly high ceilings, worn wooden floors, old furniture, and just feels like a perfect bookstore. My brother and I grew up learning to draw from his Drawing Book of Animals. The reason I kept coming back to this book wh...

Paintings and Mixed Media. Images, Art and Digital Artifacts. At the end of every good day I can look back on something created from pieces left in the wake of our travels to the next reflection or rest. At times it's fortuitous find, or discovery from determination. I've found nearly four decades of play and purpose by arranging and rearranging lines, colors and shapes to construct images. It's all here for the taking in and building on.
