Mulesaw: Treasure chest with curved lid part 8, assembly

http://mulesaw.blogspot.com/2015/07/treasure-chest-with-curved-lid-part-8.html

Being old fashioned, the cool way. Sunday, July 19, 2015. Treasure chest with curved lid part 8, assembly. After I had glued up the lid, I cut the ends of so they were level with the sides. Then I started rounding over the outside of the lid using a plane. I took a break from the free hand planing, and decided to glue up the lower part of the chest. This went conspicuously smooth. Even the diagonal measurements were spot on. Next task was to fit a striking plate in the lid. I marked out the position ...

Modhail's Meanderings: december 2014

http://modhails-meanderings.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Zondag 28 december 2014. A bone to pick. Due to being awfully busy lately, these mini's took a long time to finish. It even got close to the point that I feared frustration over my lack of progress would lead me to abandon them for the time being. But here they are, my skeleton spearmen:. And from the rear:. This means that, apart from three skeletal beastmen (which aren't really part of my undead warband proper), all my rank and file undead are done! See you next year! Abonneren op: Berichten (Atom).

Modhail's Meanderings: november 2014

http://modhails-meanderings.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Zondag 30 november 2014. Warning, lots of words, no pictures. Wow, has it been a month already? So, what have I been up to? Not much really, at least not hobbywise. I started a in new job/project last week, and with it comes an increase in hours and travel time, leaving me knackered when I get home, at least until I get used to it (and the high-speed barrage of new-job information/training slows down). All work and no play makes Modhail a dull boy and all that (not mention cranky and depressed.). So, las...

Zondag 26 juli 2015. Well, they're done:. Five stone circles for the mages and mystics of my fantasy games to draw power from. Now I just need to get some mages and/or mystics actually painted.). 26 juli 2015 20:51. Simple but effective, I like them Erik! 26 juli 2015 21:01. Can never have enough terrain. 27 juli 2015 10:06. Theyve turned out really well. 27 juli 2015 13:49. 27 juli 2015 13:55. Lovely models nicely put together Modhail, each is quite individual and works well :-). 2 augustus 2015 15:18.

Modhail's Meanderings: mei 2015

http://modhails-meanderings.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Maandag 25 mei 2015. Another to tick off the Warhammer Quest completion list: One Bipedal Bovine. A monster of the labyrinth to really worry the heroes. Or from the heroes' perspective: a large pile of loot and beef! As usual, I took inspiration from the classic WHQ look, but with a more modern palette. I may go back and add some smears of less fortunate adventurer to his axe, but I'm letting it rest a bit before I decide. Zondag 10 mei 2015. Here is the result of my journey into ghetto bookbinding:.

Mulesaw: December 2014

http://mulesaw.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Being old fashioned, the cool way. Tuesday, December 9, 2014. The title may be a bit misleading, because it is not about tools used to build maritime stuff, rather than tools I have used the past year for hobby woodworking on a ship. As some of you may remember, I made a tool chest for the sea last year. During the last year I have built a couple of projects using the tool kit, so I feel that I can give an honest review of it. Cabinet with many drawers. A carved name sign. Fairy tale princess bed. The to...

Mulesaw: Treasure chest with curved lid part 3 dovetails and glueing up the bottom.

http://mulesaw.blogspot.com/2015/07/treasure-chest-with-curved-lid-part-3.html

Being old fashioned, the cool way. Sunday, July 5, 2015. Treasure chest with curved lid part 3 dovetails and glueing up the bottom. Today I chopped the dovetails of the four corners of the chest. A benefit of using spruce is that you can make the dovetails really tight since the wood compresses very well. This time I made the tails first like at home, and I do find that I am able to make nicer dovetails that way compared to when I make them pins first. I found some more spruce that could be glued up to f...

Mulesaw: May 2015

http://mulesaw.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Being old fashioned, the cool way. Saturday, May 30, 2015. Canvas tool roll for regular chisels 2. After sewing on the two major parts that will form the base for the individual pockets, I laid out the sizes of each individual pocket. I graduated the pockets in size, so the narrowest one is approximately 3/8" wide and the widest one is a full 2". Off course it is possible to put a narrow chisel in a wide pocket, but if the size fits - the chisel won't shift around, and it looks better in my opinion.

Mulesaw: Treasure chest with curved lid part 7, the lid

http://mulesaw.blogspot.com/2015/07/treasure-chest-with-curved-lid-part-7.html

Being old fashioned, the cool way. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Treasure chest with curved lid part 7, the lid. After the glue had dried I decided that it didn't look right if I'd led the inside stay as it was with flat boards forming the surface. I adjusted the scrub iron in the plane, so it was able to take a bit of a cut even when only the sides of the plane were riding on high spots. It was far from ideal, but I managed to get the inside to form some sort of a curve instead. I am getting used to making an...

When I push a foot into the sodden earth the displacement shifts onto the canvas. To carry the path into the painting. To recognise the well trodden space of fallen leaves. To witness the winter freeze which fixes things momentarily. This is the stuff of my paintings.

November 19, 2016. Be Polite With Strangers. If I say something unconventional, uncommon, or obviously wrong in conversation with you it likely means we’re already good friends or I find you interesting and want to see what you might say in return. I’m always polite to strangers. I more enjoy talking to people that are less constrained. The most interesting people to talk to love to explore things you can’t say. To be sure, I don’t mean the most provocative things you can think of. Some provocative t...
