close to the sun: a letter that turned into a poem

Close to the sun. Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable. Sydney J. Harris. Saturday, November 26, 2011. A letter that turned into a poem. While from your mouth, pain. From the wall to the mirror to your second son to me. With the eye of horus. Splitting your 84 years of shit into angry lasers. No longer will i. Endure the bombardment of. Tough one. Best ones are. November 26, 2011 at 11:55 PM. I like the honesty. And ANGRY....

Close to the sun. Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable. Sydney J. Harris. Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Phillis Watkins Spengler is dying. I am honored to sit beside her, doing nothing. If I even try to gently cover her exposed left foot with a warm blanket, she quips, "Oh Sue, stop fussing! There is nothing left for me to do but sit and wonder. I wonder about the secrets she is taking with her off into her afterlife. Always dis...

Abby Goldsmith: July 2012

Jul 25, 2012. Awful Air France Ordeal. When we travel these days, we all expect long lines, underpaid airport staff who don't care about helping travelers, delayed flights, and hassles. That has become normal (and I found a good article about why that is. Air France flight 688 was scheduled to depart Paris CDG. At 1:30pm, and arrive in Atlanta around 5:30pm. What happened? We departed Paris at 2:45pm, diverted to Washington D.C. for no apparent reason, and arrived in Atlanta at 3:30am the next day. So I ...

Close to the sun. Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable. Sydney J. Harris. Monday, May 5, 2014. Sorry, not today. It was a nice attempt at a bridge. Thank you for trying. You'll want the blue eyeshadow, right? I can't wait to help you with your makeup. I might take up running with you in. Garden of the gods someday. Fleeing on four legs like you would be faster. The fences have fallen. Dear cloud dragons,. Travelers, it is late.

Abby Goldsmith: June 2013

Jun 17, 2013. As I head towards completion on the penultimate book in my Torth series. I'm wondering what note to end it on. Crowd-sourcing the ending of a novel is a bad idea- especially since most of the crowd hasn't read my novels- but I figured I'd ask your opinion, just to entertain myself. How should this book end? Please note, the real question is where should I split the story between Books 5 and 6, since this series is actually one gigantic, epic story. And if you want to see how complicated the...

Nov 21, 2013. Now I understand gambling addiction. While I've been stuck at home, recovering from an illness, I've been compulsively playing two iPhone game apps by Storm8/TeamLava: "Candy Blast Mania" and "Bubble Mania." They are, respectively, a match-3 game and a bubble shooter game. I love the adorable animations (and I'm an animator), which is part of it. The evil gummy bear is so cute when he gets mad! Yeah I need to get out of the house more. I can't wait until this @#&%$! Ear infection goes away.

Aug 29, 2014. Treating the Book 1 Beginning Problem. I thought I was finally ready to submit Book 1. It turns out I wasn't. Put it: How do you imply that there's more to a character than there seems at first, without giving the whole game away? But knowing is half the battle. My treatment plan is as follows:. 1) Add a prologue from the point of view of the only person on Earth who knows that the main character is not what he appears to be. Prologues are out of vogue and this is a minor antagonist, bu...
