As a writer and make-believe player, I believe in the transformative power of stories. I believe in fairytales. Magic. Here's a little story. One I borrowed. It is the most offensive story ever told. One day, as the story goes, they dropped the proverbial ball and ate from the forbidden tree. The God wasn't very happy. Especially after He had given them everything and th...For w...

The musical goes up in five weeks and there is still so much to do! Leaning into my community and playing the new teacher card often. Apologizing for rookie moves left and right. I think a lot of my co-workers see me as a sad puppy and so I just try to play that angle as much as I can. Yip-yip! This makes the stress feel wors...

Thursday, November 01, 2012. My Next 30 Days. So Gerald and I watched this documentary on Netflix called, Forks over Knives. Have you seen it? Pretty intriguing. It presents the research to show how societies that eat animal products (meat, dairy) have higher disease than people who eat a whole foods-plant based diet. It also showed that eating a whole foods-plant based diet would not only help prevent disease, but could reverse the effects. For the month of November (minus Thanksgiving- cheat day! Water...

Wednesday, February 08, 2012. I know I haven't been in the blogging world since.who knows, and I can't promise things will be any different after this post, but I just had to write something. The last time I saw Mrs. Anderson was when she came to my bridal shower in August. I was so surprised to see her there because her health had been getting worse, which made me even more appreciative of her. This is a photo from the bridal shower. Sorry it's a bit blurry. I love you, Mrs. Anderson. I am finding every...

Wednesday, July 07, 2010. My Stupid Plastic Bag. Come listen to my tale of how I lost (then quickly found) my sister's wedding veil. Suzy had borrowed Amy's veil for her wedding in June (and looked smashing with it on), and last week I went to pick it up. The veil was inside one of those thin, plastic, dress bags that usually hold dresses (duh! I probably looked like a crazy lady to people driving by, but what's so crazy about walking through weeds and sifting through garbage? I was losing my mind. M...

My other favorite thing is chewing on sticks. My family has lots of toys for me but I will always find a stick instead.

How hard could it be? Disconnect some wires, reconnect some wires… just like replacing a light bulb. Take the old one out, put the new one in. Simple, right? Image courtesy Pixabay.com. Thankfully, with the help of a family member, the error was corrected and the lights worked as intended with the new dimmer! PS – ...
