Brian Roehl: February 2011

http://brianroehl.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 11, 2011. One of the first questions I hear whenever I mention that I'll be hiking for 3 months straight this summer is "So what are you going to eat? Or "Where will you get your food? Fortunately for me, there are a bunch of great options. Posted by Brian Roehl. Monday, February 7, 2011. The Pacific Crest Trail. I've been blessed with a truly amazing opportunity this summer - three months free of school, work, or any commitments. How did this happen? 98 days until I hit the trail!

Brian Roehl: Day 91 (8/16) Moving Quick (Or At Least Trying To)

http://brianroehl.blogspot.com/2011/09/day-91-816-moving-quick-or-at-least.html

Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Day 91 (8/16) Moving Quick (Or At Least Trying To). Gorgeous lake with Mt. Shasta. Well, as it was, I would only make it 10 feet down the trail after saying goodbye to this pair before I knew I was in for a long break. Up ahead on the trail there was none other than Positive ID, still wearing that same orange soccer jersey with the company logo ‘Bimbo’ on the front. He’s lucky that didn’t become his trail name! The original Black Bear diner with Mt. Shasta.

Brian Roehl: August 2011

Monday, August 22, 2011. Day 87 (8/12) The Postal Sprint. Mt Shasta off in the distance. Way closer than the first time I saw it from Crater Lake. I climbed up a nearby hill hoping for a cell signal, to no avail, and my frustration level began to rise again. Had I walked all that way today, enduring serious pain for no reason? Should I have just taken a mulligan on the day, walked a dozen miles and called it a healing day to let my foot recover? Miles Today: 24 ( 1). PCT Mile Marker: 1606. Moon over Blac...

Brian Roehl: April 2011

http://brianroehl.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Reflections on this Weekend and the Month Ahead. Well, I figured I should do a bit of a post-trip analysis for lessons learned and adjustments that I'll be making. For gear changes, lets start with the boots. I was disappointed by the leaking I experienced through the mesh on my Merrell MOAB gore-tex boots. This led to the freezing and perpetual wetness, which was extremely frustrating through the weekend. Posted by Brian Roehl. Monday, April 18, 2011. Posted by Brian Roehl.

Roe Family Band

Welcome to the Roe Family Band's home on the web! The Roe Family Band is a family bluegrass, old-time and acoustic music band. They have been playing as a family band for 11 years now and have played at many festivals and venues across the country. The Band is being led by Brian Roe who plays guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle and sings. This is quite a show stopper when he plays all 4 instruments in the same song! But whatever his reason, he has a very unique sound.
