Pop Rocks and Eye Drops. May 14, 2015. While I was waiting for her to come out, I captured this shot of the moon. Made me pretty happy that she wasn’t quite ready or else I’d have missed it. A quick stop at the Starbucks drive-thru (so glad they open at 5:00 am! Oh my word. That morning light and dew is so breathtaking. I’ve never been a fan of hauling myself out of bed super early, but scenery like this is so worth that 4:15 am alarm clock buzzing. We were both getting hungry on our way home – it ...

Pop Rocks and Eye Drops. Seemingly Insignificant Choices, 33 Years Later. July 20, 2016. John (to Susan and me): Did I punch your tickets? Me: Yes. (hides ticket behind back, flirts with cute guy in OP shorts and a polo shirt asking if he’d punched the tickets). John: If you wanted a free ride, why didn’t you say so? Me: Why didn’t you tell me? John: Do I have to tell you everything? Me: No, I guess you don’t. Lessons From a Bad Guy. July 26, 2015. So Haman went out that day joyful and with a glad heart;.

Free to Be: February 2011
http://kmasengale.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 17, 2011. The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch with, never saying a word, and walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you've had. It is either that or live a life of isolation.which, the latter is just not an option for me. To hear. Those that will intercede in prayer for me when I'm going through a rough patch. Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces. Proverbs 13:20 (The Message). I remember when...

Free to Be: Resolution Revolution Book Club
http://kmasengale.blogspot.com/2011/09/resolution-revolution-book-club.html
Saturday, September 17, 2011. Resolution Revolution Book Club. Yesterday morning I was sipping my coffee and catching up on tweets on Twitter {you know, doing the important stuff}. A tweet popped up from Priscilla Shirer that caught my eye. She was announcing her Resolution Revolution Book Club and it was starting in 10 minutes. I really had no clue what it was about, but I knew if Priscilla was doing it, then I wanted to be a part of it. The first time I heard her I thought "oh my word! This book club i...

Free to Be: Hello...It's Been Awhile!
http://kmasengale.blogspot.com/2012/04/helloits-been-awhile.html
Monday, April 30, 2012. My blog has been severely neglected the last 6 months. We moved to Oklahoma City in October to be the Campus Pastor's at Victory Church. OKC and to say it has been crazy has been an understatement. It has been a wild ride, but such an amazing one! There is nothing like being smack dab in the middle of God's will. We LOVE LOVE LOVE it here and I'm absolutely blown away at what God is doing. He is so faithful. I just returned from an incredible weekend at Pink Impact.

Free to Be: March 2011
http://kmasengale.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 23, 2011. My husband and I host a small group in our home on Wednesday nights and tonight we started a new study by Steven Furtick called Sun Stand Still. It really spoke to me so strongly because just this morning I was reading Exodus 3 and 4. Moses is tending sheep and God appears to him in a burning bush. (How cool would that be? It says in Exodus 3:11-12 (NLT) "But Moses protested to God, 'Who am I to appear before Pharoah? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt? He wants...

Friday, May 4, 2012. Stop Comparing and Be You! In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we're talking about is Christ's body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn't amount to much, would we? What is my purpose? I believe the enemy loves to spend his time trying to cause us to look at someone else, to lo...
